Last week, at the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington VA, Sarah Huckabee Sanders was denied service merely because she supports President Trump in fulfilling his commitment to enforce the immigration laws passed by Congress before he assumed the office of the Presidency. It thus seems that some leftist Democrats in Virginia would like to change the logo for the Commonwealth to read VIRGINIA IS FOR SMUGGLERS, rather than VIRGINIA IS FOR LOVERS. This would help to advertise to those desiring to illegally infiltrate into America that the Commonwealth wants to unconditionally welcome them. With no vetting whatsoever, gang members such as MS-13, rapists, drug smugglers, child molesters and human traffickers are apparently to be allowed to infiltrate into the Old Dominion, and, through her, into the rest of the nation - just as long as such criminals claim to be merely migrants.

Maybe it's time to revive the lunch-counter sit-ins now that the liberal haters are refusing to serve us! During the Civil Rights Movement people were refused service because of the color of their skin. Now restaurants are refusing and persecuting patrons because of the color of their beliefs. If you're blue you can stay; if you're red and support Trump, you leave. The restaurant owner wasn't being forced to serve a cake that said, "I love Trump." The restaurant was simply being asked to serve the same food and provide the same service to a Trump supporter who happens to be a member of the administration. This is a civil rights issue and the restaurant should be sued because this is starting to escalate. Trump supporters are the "niggers" of the new age. These same folks who want to force bakers and florists and wedding photographers to violate their consciences by enhancing the celebration of same-sex weddings, think it's okay to deny food service. How about grocery stores and gas stations and dry cleaners and cab drivers and....well, you get the idea. What do you think? Is it okay to deny service to people wearing "Make America Great Again" t-shirts and hats?

Chilton Williamason had an interesting editorial in the October issue of Chronicles titled Who's the Most Hateful of Them All? He, I believe accurately, lays the mounting hatred and divisions in our country at the feet of white liberals who created the "condemnatory category of 'dead white males'" and labeled the white race "the cancer of history."

In case you thought the Democrats only had abortionists, pornographers, euthanasia proponents, gay activists, and atheists in their corner, think again. The witches are stirring their cauldrons and chanting their "binding spells" in an effort to keep the president from governing.

Really! No joke.

The witches started in February and plan to cast their spell every month during the waning moon (Yikes! One of the dates was my birthday.) calling on “demons of the infernal realms"...so that the president..."may fail utterly, that he may do no harm.”

They are also after us, friends. Their chant calls down evil on “all those who enable his wickedness and those whose mouths speak his poisonous lies.” The witches call on the spirits to “bind them in chains, bind their tongues, bind their works, bind their wickedness.” 

Wow! We're wicked and they are the good guys as they wish evil on us! Talk about blind and deluded souls. Sin really does make you stupid!

Am I "Filled with Anger and Hatred?"

I sometimes get accused of being filled with anger and hatred in the comments section of the blog. Why? Because I (and my colleagues) dare to say that some things are evil. That proves we are (take your choice) hate-filled, intolerant, mean, racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and (as one critic described me) an ugly cow. (Moooo!)

That didn't make me angry actually; I just laughed. But, yes, I do get angry:

• about laws that allow "doctors" to drag little babies out of the womb into the birth canal, stab them in the back of the neck and suck out their brains before delivering their poor, little, lifeless bodies. 

Topsy and Tuptim to the Rescue

[The following scenario was inspired by a real event. You can read about it here.]

Topsy and Tuptim are eating at a local restaurant, the Tasty Tie. Nearby a man is dining alone...well, not quite alone. He's holding his miniature poodle on his lap as he eats. Topsy and Tuptim are just ordering drinks and chatting.

Topsy: Say, Tuptim, isn't that man with the poodle over there the radio personality, Mickey Maul? I listen to his show whenever I can. . He pulls no punches. I'm surprised, though. He looks older than I thought.

Tuptim: (Looking) You're right. That is him! You know he's 75, right? How do you expect him to look? (She chuckles as she sees Mickey give the dog a bite of his dinner.) He seems pretty tame for someone whose show is as savage as his is sometimes. He can be a little over the top.

Steve Bannon: Bogeman of the #HumptyDumptyMedia

As I've mentioned often, I'm a big fan of Chronicles Magazine. I think it illustrates the most Chestertonian approach to politics in the media. This morning I'm reading an article (February issue) about the Trump bogeyman the left most loves to hate (after Trump, of course) -- Steve Bannon.

The author of the article, A.M. Fantini, describes a conference he attended in Rome put on by the Rome-based Dignitatis Humanae Institute which exists "to protect and promote human dignity based on the anthropological truth that man is born in the image and likeness of God." The theme was "Poverty and the Common Good." Among the speakers at the conference was Steve Bannon, then head of Breitbart News, who "stood out" among the conference participants

Anyone paying attention knows that Bannon has been vilified by the #HumptyDumptyMedia as an anti-Semite, a racist, a fascist, a misogynist...yadda...yadda...yadda ad nauseum. (Remember that the left resorts to name-calling because they have no argument based on facts.)

Black Senator Gets Racist Tweets from "Tolerant" Liberal Left for Supporting Jeff Sessions

Not only are liberals not tolerant, they are nasty and racist. The only blacks they accept are the ones who stay on the liberal plantation picking cotton for Uncle Sammy's goodies. Intelligent, educated blacks like Senator Scott, Clarence Thomas, Ben Carson, Mia Love, etc. get the verbal lynching treatment for daring to defy Massah and think for themselves. It's disgusting! This should go viral!

John Vinson and the Hate Hogs

I've mentioned before that I love Chronicles Magazine and the latest issue just confirms it. John Vinson's column, Beating the Left at Their Own Game hit a bullseye. I wish the article was on their website, but it's not. Here are several paragraphs from the article:

Leftists love to obsess about hate. It seems to be on their tongues all the time, and it may have already surpassed racist as their expletive of choice to hurl at conservatives, traditionalists, Middle Americans, and other folks they detest. You don't have to be a psychologist to understand the meaning of projection -- that, when people obsessively accuse others of something, they are likely guilty of it themselves. 

And indeed, in today's America, it's not hard to see where most of the hostility is coming from. If you happen to express an opinion counter to politically correct orthodoxy, expect swift retribution from the Talibans of left-wing tolerance. You may have to apologize to angry inquisitors, lest you lose your reputation and job. Or you might just lose them anyway....

Increasingly, the dominant p.c. wing of the left simply dismisses reason and logic, which are, after all, nothing more than white male social constructs designed to thwart social justice. Where once the leftists made their case on the supposedly scientific claims of classical Marxism, they now often presume that truth, such as it exists, is whatever they say it is.

Vinson goes on to recommend that the defenders of the truth should borrow the tactics of the left by using Saul Alinsky's strategy of ridicule and humor against them. "One gains power over a behavior by putting a label on it." The label Vinson suggests for the liberal hater is "hate-hype viper." Now a snake is a good image, but, on thinking about it, I prefer a football metaphor.

The "hogs" used to run interference for John Riggins when he played for the Redskins back in the late 70s and 80s. So the perfect label for those liberals running interference for an agenda by knocking out the opposition by accusing them of "hate" is "hate-hype hog." The "hate-hype hogs" advance the liberal agenda, whether it's Barrack Obama's contraceptive mandate or the gay demand for homosexual marriage by demonizing anyone who disagrees with it. You can hear the hate-hype hogs squealing that those who oppose the contraceptive mandate "hate women and are at war with reproductive choice." In similar vein they squeal that those who oppose gay marriage are homophobes filled with hate for gays. They'll squeal and accuse anyone of hate who opposes anything they want, hyping it to an hysterical pitch.

The goal of the hate-hype hogs is to advance the agenda by knocking out the opposition, just like the Redskin hogs clobbered their opponents so John Riggins could advance the ball. Their goal is to get their agenda across for a touchdown no matter what it takes. The only difference between the football hogs and "hate-hype hogs" is that the Redskins played by the rules. The "hatehype hogs" follow no rules, no reason, no truth. They will lie, cheat, steal, and, yes, hate to get what they want. It's all part of the liberal game plan where the end justifies the means even when it requires one to use vicious hate-filled tactics to destroy adversaries. It's high time these "hate-hype hogs" were recognized as the wild beasts they are.
