Topsy and Tuptim Meet to Discuss Querida Amazonia -- Part II

Are those bitter herbs from the Amazon to
remind us that Lent is coming?
See Part I

Topsy and Tuptim have a date to discuss the latest Pope Francis exhortation, Querida Amazonia. They meet at the coffee shop and Topsy, who generally has her coffee with a large dose of half and half, orders an espresso strong and black. She carries her coffee and a muffin to the table where Tuptim is sitting thumbing through her highlighted copy of the exhortation.

Topsy: Hi lady! (She sits.) I'd rather have a good stiff drink to get through this, but instead I'll drink my coffee your way -- dark, strong, and bitter.

Islam Produces a Darkened Intellect

L - Islamic Intellect; R - Christian Intellect
Belief in Islam produces a darkened intellect. Islam does not reveal God and His infinite perfection. Christians “honor God by faith, which is of the mind, by hope, which is of the will, by love, which is of the heart; and thus the whole man is subjected to the Supreme Maker and Ruler of all things.” – Saint Pius X.
But Islam is the opposite because Allah is not God, the Maker and Ruler of all things. Allah is Satan, the Liar and Destroyer of all things, therefore Islam honors Lucifer by faith (in evil) which darkens the mind, by despair which leads the will to commit rash actions, by hatred which leads the heart to destruction of Truth, beauty and goodness.
Therefore a person inspired by Lucifer’s Islamic religion and taking up a knife and slitting another person’s throat or beheading journalists, raping children, pillaging, and destroying are all par for the course. They are all actions which are natural consequence of love of evil, death and destruction.

If Anyone Wants to Slog Through the Financial Audit in the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese.......

St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, WV
Go for it.... The independent Audit Report for 2019 is out.

Please pray for this poor diocese. Breaking trust results in serious repercussions that have a long life.

May those who've left the Church because of the scandals, return. May those whose faith is weakened, persevere and grow in faith.

And may those who have always hated the Church and use this as an excuse to hate her even more, be converted by the holy witness of serious Catholics who remain faithful through every storm!

This Tells You All You Need to Know about the Apostolic Nuncio, Christophe Pierre...

US Representative of Pope Francis to Participate in Assembly of Heretical Priests

Yup! This tells you all you need to know about the nuncio. It also is one more indication of where Pope Francis stands who chose this man for our poor country. Archbishop Pierre received all the details about AUSCP's heresy (Association of U.S. Catholic Priests) several months ago. They promote married priests, women priests, priestless parishes run by laity, promotion of the LGBT agenda, etc. ad nauseum. Don't just trust the Lepanto Institute; check out their own website. Do you think the nuncio is ignorant of all this? If he is, he's irresponsible and unfit for his post. If he isn't ignorant, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing and unfit for his post.

The Church and the New World Order

I watched this video by Michael Matt today.  Twice.

There is A LOT to take away from it.  Looking at "the big picture"  I see a situation similar to the one the Church faced when it signed the Lateran Agreement with Italy.  In this present situation, one has to wonder, who and when, exactly did the Vatican sign an agreement with the powers of the unilateral globalist movement.  We know they signed agreements with the USSR, for instance, that hardly anyone speaks about to "supposedly" protect the Christians there, but we, or I don't, at least know for sure what has gone on behind the scenes to put the Church in line with the New World Order with no nations, no borders, no personal sin, no fixed dogma.

Hold the Applause: An Analysis of Pope Francis' Post Synodal Exhortation -- Part I

I've seen a lot of chatter about how relieved people are that Pope Francis did not approve married priests for the Amazon in his post synodal Apostolic Exhortation.

Well, I've read it and frankly I found it alarming and hypocritical on many fronts.

But before I get into that let me remind you to......

PUT THE APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION, QUERIDA AMAZONIA, IN CONTEXT:

Want to Know Where the Vatican is Taking the Church?

....Just look at China!

Where....

  • Children under 18 may not go to Church...
  • Underground bishops (legitimate) are forced to step down in favor of bishops appointed by an atheistic Communist government...
  • Where Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin's ostpolitik with an anti-religious Communist government includes signing on to the Communist agenda...
It is the abandonment of the Catholic faithful of China in favor of a false unity that pretends to be making progress in this poor country.

It is shameful and a sellout of Catholic truth!

Cardinal Joseph Zen is the prophetic voice of the suffering Church in China. This 88 year old Catholic warrior will not be silent. His voice graphically reveals the moral bankruptcy of Vatican policy.

Sunday Meditation: Lent is Coming, Are You Ready?

Going to the traditional Latin Mass last Sunday got me thinking about Lent. In the old calendar, it was Septuagesima Sunday, 7 decades before Easter.

Yes, under the old (would progressive Catholics say "dismal"?) calendar, Ordinary Time was only a few weeks in and already the Church drew the eyes of the faithful toward the passion of Christ. The green changed to purple.

I was glad for the reminder that Lent is coming because it got me thinking about what I want to read for the season. And, since I happened to be doing a little organizing of my papal documents at the same time, I readily found just the thing. Pope Leo XIII's little book, The Practice of Humility. He was still known as Joachim Cardinal Pecci, Bishop of Perugia, when he wrote it. The work was directed to seminarians, but all of us are in training for the devout life, so how beneficial such a work can be for everyone! And it also turns my thoughts to Pope John Paul I, the "smiling pope" who served for only 33 years -- one day for every year in the life of Christ. His motto was a single world: humilitas. He left behind a humble collection of writings. Among his few general audiences he left these words:

My Brain Works Life a Rube Goldberg Contraption

If that headline intrigues you, I have a post on my Grandma blog about it. I'm taking a break from the bad news in the culture and the Church.

History Repeats Itself! And so Does Heresy!

Cardinal Marx with his equivalent of Luther's rebellion.

I just started reading Hillaire Belloc's book, How the Reformation Happened. With the latest revolt coming out of Germany, that unfortunate country, I hope the book may cast some light on the synodal path to hell being led by the German bishops. (Hmmm...what a good hash tag! #TheSynodalPathToHell.)

Belloc begins by dispelling the notion of there ever being a peaceful time in the Church. He goes through the first 300 years of blistering persecution and countless divisions, ending with Constantine's edict of 321 establishing religious toleration for Christians.
