The other day I gave a talk to the core team of the Defend Life Face the Truth Tour. During the blazing hot days this week, these warriors of the Church Militant will be standing at busy intersections holding signs showing the graphic reality of abortion. They will receive thumbs up, honks for life as well as obscene gestures and screams. The really rabid pro-abortion zealots may even attack them. And in the past, these truth tellers have even been arrested. (They won the lawsuit against the police department.)

One of the things I mentioned briefly during my talk was the reality that there are traitors in roman collars. In the early days of the pro-life movement there was a real chance of passing a human life amendment to protect all lives from the moment of conception until natural death. That amendment wasn't deep-sixed by the feminists but principally by one priest -- Monsignor (later Bishop) James McHugh. As head of the USCCB's pro-life office, he had many contacts with laity fighting for life. It is an understatement to say he was not helpful, but actually threw roadblocks in the path to saving the unborn.

This morning I received an email from Michael Hichborn of the Lepanto Institute describing how the Diocese of Wheeling/Charleston plans to join a lawsuit against the state over a bill giving parents the freedom to choose vaccinations for their children. If true, it's a shocking position! 

Does a Catholic Diocese have more rights over children than their parents? Not according to canon law.

Well, well, well -- The USCCB is suing the Trump Administration because they cut off the gravy train!

You will never hear the term "illegal alien" from the U.S. bishops. Every law breaker violating our borders is a poor "refugee" and we must "welcome the stranger." But don't expect them to be welcomed into the bishops residence or the chancery.

Hmm....I was watching Crisis Magazine editor, Eric Sammons, discussing the question Did Online Trads Cause the TLM Crackdown? It's an interesting video. Sammons made the point that if individual's questionable actions cause the suppression of the TLM, then why do not individual's questionable actions cause suppression of the Novus Ordo? Is Fr. James Martin untouchable but Taylor Marshall is a legitimate target?

The other day I did a post about the medical murder of Sr. Phillip Marie Burle who was deliberately over medicated, declared incompetent, and then killed by Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles, MO. Reading her case reminded me so much of the murders of Hugh Finn and Terri Schiavo and, more recently, teenager Grace Scharra. She was hospitalized with COVID and killed while doctors lied to her family that she was improving. Meanwhile they administered an increasingly lethal drug cocktail. 

Almsgiving with a Clear Conscience: Don't Give to CCHD and Other Judas Catholic Groups!

I occasionally get asked what charities are safe to donate to. I have a few favorites of my own with Aid to the Church in Need, the Poor Clares, and the Little Sisters of the Poor among them. We also support a number of pro-life groups. Sad to say, many of the Catholic groups are among the most egregious when it comes to supporting intrinsic moral evils like abortion and contraception. The Lepanto Institute has a great webpage with reports on various charities both secular and religious. Their reporting on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services exposes their deep connection to abortion, contraception, and sodomy. Catholic Judas groups often support organizations that help defeat pro-life politicians and elect radical leftists. And they use money from the people in the pews to do it who erroneously believe their hard-earned money is helping the poor and downtrodden.

Archbishop Pierre received all the details about AUSCP's heresy (Association of U.S. Catholic Priests) several months ago. They promote married priests, women priests, priestless parishes run by laity, promotion of the LGBT agenda, etc. ad nauseum. Don't just trust the Lepanto Institute; check out their own website. Do you think the nuncio is ignorant of all this? If he is, he's irresponsible and unfit for his post. If he isn't ignorant, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing and unfit for his post.

The Shameful Letter from Bishop Burbidge about Fr. Ron Escalante.......

....Or how to clear a priest while implying his guilt about.......about .....something?

Well, after almost a year, here is the final outcome of the diocese's "investigation" of Fr. Ronald Escalante, a good priest accused of a "boundary violation." As someone who has watched the damage done to faithful priests in this diocese for decades, I am angry and disgusted.

As I studied the letter, it reminded me of Ann and Derek Humphry, founders of the Hemlock Society. Ann watched Derek kill his first wife, Jean, who was dying of cancer. He smothered her with a pillow although the story put out was that she took deadly drugs. They also killed Ann's parents.

Later, Ann herself contracted cancer although it was in remission and she wasn't depressed. At least not until Derek urged and pressured and bullied her to kill herself. They divorced, but Derek continued to harass her unmercifully. One day she rode her horse up into the Oregon hills, took a deadly cocktail, and left behind a note basically saying, "Derek wins." A second witness has come forward to corroborate that Fr. Ron Escalante's accuser was told to lie, not only by her mother, but by the associate pastor, Fr. Mark Mullaney. According to this witness (called Sophia 2), the accuser (called Molly) said Fr. Mullaney told her to say that Fr. Escalante touched her "tits" (his word) and that made her uncomfortable. She also told her friends that Father told her to lie for the "good of the parish."

Fr. Mullaney is also notorious for dropping F-bombs right and left (not just when he hits his thumb with a hammer). Is that appropriate behavior for any Christian, much less a priest?

Do they like to express their creativity by embracing every "progressive" and popular perversity inflicted on souls by the world, the flesh, and the devil? There are certainly many among the ranks of the clergy who do, sad to say.

The Lepanto Institute headed by Michael Hichborn recently revealed how the bureaucrats at the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) attempted to bribe them with a grant from the CCHD (Catholic Campaign for Human Development) if they would stop exposing the evil groups the bishops' "charity" funds.

Really? That's what Jesus would do?

Lepanto refused, of course, so they have been the target of a relentless attack to discredit their attempts to get the CCHD, Catholic Relief Services, and Catholic Charities to stop funding evil organizations and programs that promote intrinsically immoral actions like homosexual behavior, abortion, contraception, and other moral evils opposed by Catholic doctrine.

It's more than shocking and it demonstrates the reality that love of money is the root of all evils. Check it out here. The USCCB is a conduit for your tax dollars as well as contributions you put in the collection basket, and if it means they have to commit a little evil to get the dough -- well, the new reality is "Hey, you patsies in the pew, we cooperate with just a little moral evil because we're doing oh-so-much good."

Michael Hichborn is one of the most honest Catholics I know -- totally committed to the faith. He is a wonderful husband and father and a real crusader for the truth. Contrast that with the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) and their commitment, not to Almighty God, but to the Almighty Dollar! One of the best things that could happen to the Church in the U.S. is the demolition of the USCCB!
