Pass on The Truth! St. Athanasius

“For our canons and our forms were not given to the Churches at the present day, but were wisely and safely transmitted to us from our forefathers. Neither had our faith its beginning at this time, but it came down to us from the Lord through His disciples.”

There is no such thing as a new Church or a new faith that accords with changing times. The times may be a-changin’ but the faith doesn’t.

Athanasius goes on. “That therefore the ordinances which have been preserved in the Churches from old time until now, may not be lost in our days, and the trust which has been committed to us required at our hands.”

Archbishop Lefebvre vowed to pass on what he had received. Are we not called to pass on what Christ gave us? Let us keep the faith and pass it on intact to the next generation.

Athanasius, responding to the Arian heresy, lamented that “such things have never before been committed against the Church.” Is there any doubt how he would respond to the heresy of modernism engulfing the Bride of Christ? I’m asking his intercession for the same zeal to love and protect the faith for the love of Jesus Christ Who died for our salvation.

May Jesus Christ be praised! Now and forever. Amen!
