From Contraception to Same Sex "Marriage"

UPDATE:  World Vision Reverses Decision

Our friends at AFTAH are bewailing the move of World Vision, a major evangelical charity, to change their policies allowing the hiring of homosexuals who are "married" to their same sex lovers. Well...it had to come to this. It was inevitable once the Christian churches capitulated on contraception an attack on love that became the seedbed for other sexual evils including abortion and sodomy. Did you know that once all the Protestant denominations opposed contraception? The fall began with the Anglicans.

Every decade since the late 19th century, the Anglicans have convened an assembly of bishops called by the Archbishop of Canterbury to discuss and adopt resolutions. In 1930, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, a Christian denomination approved of the use of contraception in limited situations for married couples. Even the Washington Post was appalled and ran an editorial that could have been an appendix to a papal document:
“It is impossible to reconcile the doctrine of the divine institution of marriage with any modernistic plan for the mechanical regulation of or suppression of human life. The Church must either reject the plain teachings of the Bible or reject schemes for the ‘ scientific’ production of human souls.
"Carried to its logical conclusion, the committee’s report, if carried into effect, would sound the death knell of marriage as a holy institution by establishing degrading practices which would encourage indiscriminate immorality. The suggestion that the use of legalized contraceptives would be ‘ careful and restrained’ is preposterous.”
Ah...there was a time when Catholics could read the Washington Post and nod their heads over the truth within its pages. But that was another time indeed.

The Anglican Church was the first domino to fall and, well, look around. It was soon followed by all the other Protestant denominations. The impact on the Christian churches was devastating. And today, how many Protestants have any idea of their past?

History has a tendency to repeat itself as World Vision illustrates. It is just a question of time before most Protestant churches will go the way of contraception and bless the evil of homosexual relationships even performing same-sex "marriage" (an impossibility since a primary purpose of marriage is to give life which can never come from two men or two women without the further abomination of technological manipulation).

If you've supported World Vision in the past, it's time to zip your wallet and look elsewhere. The greatest enemy of the family is lust and depraved lust is the worst of all. World Vision's moral collapse is sadly reminiscent of Lambeth in 1930.
