After three years of litigation and beaucoup bucks paid to high profile lawyers, Cardinal Dolan and the Archdiocese of New York lost the final appeal to keep the remains of Archbishop Fulton Sheen in New York. It would be interesting to know the rationale behind New York's decision to renege on a 2002 agreement to allow the move, since they had no interest in pursing Sheen's cause for sainthood.

Sooooo...did you hear about the Met Gala Featuring Fashions "Inspired" by the Catholic Church?
These must have come from the collections of sex abusers. A pretty dress for the men who like to dress as women and a bondage mask to go with your S & M kit! Fr. James Martin was on board with this and attended the gala...as did Timothy Cardinal Dolan whose statement is after the break.
Question: Isn't this cultural appropriation? Why are the liberals not screaming about secularists and Cathlic haters dressing up Catholic? Remember how they attacked the mom of the little girl who dressed like a Geisha for a birthday tea? Once again the hypocrisy of the Left is front and center!

Cardinal Dolan: Turning over a new leaf?
Cardinal Dolan: Synod should support, encourage, the 'new minority' of faithful Catholics
Well, there are a lot of leaves on a tree, but this "leaf" from the book of Cardinal Dolan gives me at least a little hope. The thought of turning over a new leaf reminds me of a story (maybe O. Henry) about a dying girl whose window looks out on brick wall with a tree in front of it that actually touched the wall with its branches. It's autumn and she's convinced that when the last leaf falls, she'll die. She watches the leaves drop and float to the ground one by one by one losing hope as she sees them fall. Finally, only one leaf is left on the tree. When that leaf falls, she knows she'll die.
In her apartment building lives an old man, a friend. He was a painter, but never a very successful one. He too is ill with a bad cold, but there's no doubt he'll recover. Only one day he gets much worse and eventually dies of complications from pneumonia.
Meanwhile, the young woman finding hope in the fortitude of that last leaf, slowly begins to recover. When she's better she discovers that the painter, who loved her like a father, had gone out in the dark, the cold and the snow and painted a leaf on the wall of the building that, from her window, appeared to be attached to the tree's branch. She lived and he died out of love for her. What greater love than to give one's life for a friend.
I guess that's a digression, but let's hope that Cardinal Dolan isn't just turning over one new leaf, but an entire tree full.

What's Going on in the Catholic Church? Good Question!
The article linked below by Chris Manion goes far in explaining why so many have left the Church. When the guard at the gate blows a faint trumpet, who will respond? The City of God is under siege and those with the responsibility to protect the people have abandoned their posts.
What's Going on in the Catholic Church? or Why is Cardinal Dolan ranting again?
Manion points out that the Catholic Church gets over a billion dollars a year from the feds and then tells us something his dad use to tell his law students, “if you take the first bribe, you may as well take the rest.”
Consider what's going on in the collapsing German Church which gets megabucks from the government and ask if the same thing, in a different way, is happening here in the U.S. A billion dollars (plus the tax exemption) can buy a lot of silence, don't you think?

Too Little, Too Late by Fr. Tom Collins

| Cardinal Dolan gives invocation at Democrats' convention. |
And Catholic "pro-choice" politicians correctly point out that many bishops continue to acquiesce to their contention that the Eucharistic Christ wants to regularly ratify with His Own Body and Blood the morality of their abortion agenda. If the silence of our bishops continues to concede to this "pro-choice" contention that Christ considers the barbaric butchering of babies in utero as a legitimate dimension of "social justice", is it any wonder that the courts do not take seriously the Church's conscientious objections to the HHS contraception-abortion mandate? Indeed, the Church's liturgical practice for decades has shown that this is not really a serious moral issue. How can the Church legitimately object to a practice, which she herself routinely ratifies through one of the most sacred actions of her liturgy?
And did not the President of the USCCB give the Democratic Party Convention his benediction as that party was demanding not only more contraception and abortion, but also the legal redefinition of marriage to include sodomite relationships? How is it that a Cardinal of the Catholic Church would freely bless a group pro-actively promoting actions in clear violation of his Church's basic moral convictions?
Sadly, solid evidence has been accumulating over the years to indicate that the bureaucracy at the USCCB has incrementally become merely a sycophantic branch of the Democratic Party. I cannot help but wonder how much more perversion will be required before the Vatican and the USCCB finally recognize that the agenda of the Democratic Party has declined beyond degeneracy into the promotion of intrinsic evil. Its whole agenda is based upon policies that aim to abort our posterity, our morality, our economy, our military and our polity. And all this is done to promote political cronyism, perversion and promiscuity as linchpins of "social justice" and the New World Order.
I pray that God may show more mercy on us than we have shown to our posterity! And may we finally come to take seriously the dire warnings given to us by Our Blessed Mother nearly a century ago at Fatima!

When a Prince of the Church Advances Sodomy -- He Drives the Lance into Christ's Heart!
Note the "gay problem" of a homosexual priest sharing his rectory with his same-sex lover. Yes indeed, the smoke of Satan is in the sanctuary and in the rectories and Satan has plenty of sidekicks in the episcopacy. God help those false shepherds on Judgment Day.
Honoring St. Patrick -- By Celebrating Sodomy?
Cardinal Dolan, isn't this a great scandal to the faith? Apparently not in his opinion. What would St. Patrick think? And how many practicing homosexuals will happily continue their lifestyle racing toward hell with the cardinal's "Bravo!" tickling their ears?

Update on Fr. Justin Wylie, Traditional Priest "Eliminated" by Cardinal Dolan
If you aren't familiar with Fr. Wylie's "elimination" by Cardinal "Bravo for Homosexuals" Dolan you can read a little of the back story here, here, and here. And Michael Voris covered the controversy here.
I've been wondering what happened to Fr. Wylie after being "run out of town on a rail by the jolly New York cardinal" and was glad to get a post from Matt Abbott today that gave some details from the priest himself. Fr. Wylie is back in South Africa with a parish assignment. Here's what Matt posted:

Disappearing Blog Posts: Poof, No Criticizing Cardinal Dolan Allowed!
I received the following forwarded email sent out by Christian McDonnell. I'm happy she copied the text of Msgr. Pope's blog article before it disappeared in a puff of incense!
Here’s the full text of the post, copied from blog before it was apparently removed:
Time to End the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Al Smith Dinner?
By: Msgr. Charles Pope
The time for happy-clappy, lighthearted engagement of our culture may be nearing an end. Sometimes it takes a while to understand that what used to work no longer works. Let me get more specific.
Decades ago the “Al Smith Dinner” was a time for Republicans and Democrats to bury the hatchet (even if only temporarily) and come together to raise money for the poor and to emphasize what unites us rather than what divides us. But in the old days the death of 50 million infants was not what divided us. We were divided about lesser things such as how much of the budget should go to defense and how much to social spending. Reasonable men might differ over that.

Millstone for Cardinal Dolan -- Again!
Yesterday I was on a blog where a woman expressed her total frustration with the infidelity of so many Catholic bishops and her intention to leave the Church. What precipitated her crisis of faith? The latest scandal in New York by Cardinal, gay-promoting, Timothy Dolan who waxed enthusiastic over a gay group publicly marching under a gay banner in next year's St. Patrick's Day parade.
Ho-hum...We're used to the Cardinal's scandals by now. Why would anyone think he's Catholic in any meaningful sense of the word?
With regard to the disillusioned woman, immediately other Catholics on the blog exhorted her not to do it and she reflected a few posts later that there's no place to go. My dad vented in the same way after Vatican II when Archbishop Borders was destroying the faith in Baltimore. My mom, like the faithful Catholics on the blog, said the same thing...."Where else can we go?" Only Jesus has the words of eternal life, especially when he's being crucified by His own. ("When I return will I find any faith on the earth?")
I trust the woman will stay and fight. But isn't it a tragedy that we have to fight the scandals from clerics within the Church as much as (or more than) we have to fight assaults from outside? Don't give up; keep the faith. As a friend once told Canadian warrior of God, Anne Roche Muggeridge (RIP) who once threatened to leave the Church, "Don't let the bastards drive you out!" There are many bastards (illegitimate children who detest their father) in the Church today. Some of them wear roman collars. But, whenever you find them, pray and fight and never let them drive you away from the way, the truth, and light. There is nowhere else to go!
By the way, I just took the Les Femmes newsletter to the printer and we awarded Cardinal Dolan a millstone. he certainly has earned it over the past few months between shilling for the gays and persecuting faithful priest Fr. Justin Wylie.

So...the big question is...Who really is that man under the red hat?
Cardinal Dolan? Can you explain why you coddle the homosexual parishes in Manhattan?
What exactly is going on?
Why are St. Francis Xavier and St. Francis of Assisi allowed to promote the homosexual agenda and advance "gay pride?"
Aren't the bishops fighting the redefinition of marriage? Do you mean it?
Can the faithful get answers?
Anyone? Anyone?

Will Cardinal Dolan Do Anything about St. Francis and their Celebration of NYC "Pride"?
I've been posting about Manhattan's homosexual parish, St. Francis Xavier run by the Jesuits. (See here, here, here, and here.) It's a scandal, but Cardinal Dolan seems to have no problem with it. No discipline for the priests there promoting homosexual acting out. In fact, he cheered them on at the parish rededication.
Nope! Cardinal Dolan saves discipline for orthodox priests like Fr. Justin Wylie of Holy Innocents parish who dared to say in a Sunday homily that the diocese appears to be the abandoning the flock who desire the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). Holy Innocents is the only parish in the diocese that offers a daily TLM. So what happened to Fr. Wylie in a New York minute? He got the boot at the express order of the Cardinal's office. I mean, it's fine to talk about mixing with the smelly sheep, but, some sheep are smellier than others and those traditionalists just reek of incense!
To make a sad story even more ludicrous, Holy Innocents is planned to merge with St. Francis of Assisi run by the Order of Friars Minor. Seems the Franciscans are as proud of homosexuals acting out as the Jesuits at St. Francis Xavier. (The two Francises must be rolling over in their graves.) At any rate, St. Francis of Assisi is celebrating their "pre-Pride Mass" before the "hot" events on the evening of June 28th and the big parade the next day. Keep in mind that "gay pride" is a loaded term that refers to celebrating the homosexual lifestyle. If you have any doubts about what NYC pride stand for, visit the NYC Pride website. But don't check it out when the kiddies are around. One of the things they're proud of is redefining marriage. (Click on 2008 - 2013 to see the strides they've made in bringing same-sex marriage to reality!) Are you proud of that, Cardinal Dolan? And exactly how can the pro-sodomy parishioners "merge" with the traditional Catholics who keep the faith? Talk about strange bedfellows?

Another Whopping Scandal from Cardinal Dolan
Cardinal Dolan Says "Bravo" to Gay Football Player Michael Sam
I really don't understand Cardinal Dolan. Supposing I "came out" in public declaring that I am oriented toward adultery. There I am shouting from the rooftops, "Hey I'm really attracted to having sex with other women's husbands. And, as a matter of fact, I've dated a few." Would Cardinal Dolan cheer me on and say, "Bravo, good for her? I can't judge." Somehow I doubt it.
But isn't that what Michael Sam is basically saying, "Hey, I'm attracted to having sex with other guys. And I've dated a few." (He said that in a interview.) What's to celebrate in that? Didn't Jesus say even to look at another with lust was to commit the act in one's heart? Aren't our sinful "orientations" something to save for the confessional?
Cardinal Dolan needs a reality check. What does it do to the faithful when a shepherd blesses the immoral inclinations of others? Frankly, I feel like I've been sucker-punched! I don't judge Michael Sam; that's God's job. I do judge his choices to "date" other men. So I hope readers will pray for him.
But pray even harder for Cardinal Dolan because scandal by someone in his position is serious indeed!

Another Abortion Scandal from Cardinal Dolan
Does it never end? Earlier this month Cardinal Dolan presented the Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal to Anna Maria Chavez, CEO of the Girl Scouts. Only one problem. Chavez has been up to her neck cooperating with pro-abortion democrats and abortion advocates throughout her entire career, so why exactly is she being recognized with an award from the Church? St. Elizabeth Seton must be rolling over in her grave.
And once again Cardinal Dolan demonstrates that he is anything but a role model for Catholics who love the Lord and His creation, especially the least ones. The two articles below tell the story. And it is a shameful one for Cardinal Dolan. His list of scandals just keeps growing and growing.

Check out Honest Girl Scouts to see how far this once admirable group has fallen. Today it partners with Planned Parenthood, favors cartoon pornography for young girls, and generally undermines morality. Check out the shocking truth! And then ask yourself whether any Catholic cleric can legitimately support this group without cooperating with evil.

And One More on the Al Smith Dinner
Here's an excellent article (Thanks, Gary) about why Cardinal Dolan was wrong to wine and dine our pro-abort killer-in-chief. I'll give you just two paragraphs from the beginning and the end, but I urge you to read the whole thing, When LOL=AWOL:
A picture is worth a thousand words, thousands of votes, and millions of unborn lives. Such is the case with the image of Cardinal Timothy M.Dolan, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), whooping it up with Barack Obama and Mitt Romney at the recent Al Smith Dinner in New York....
In conclusion, the stark image of Cardinal Dolan having a jolly old time with the very man who is presently prosecuting and mocking the Church Dolan claims to represent is a vivid reminder of why the Catholic Church is in its present state of division and confusion. Would Christ have dined, drank, and shared wine with Pontius Pilate on Good Friday to "open dialogue"? Would Our Lord have cracked some zingers while hanging on the cross? Jesus knew the place of humor and dialogue, but He likewise knew when it was inappropriate. Just as a mother knows the absurdity of laughing while telling her children she is serious about something, so too we should readily see how absurd it is to protest someone on Monday, sue them on Tuesday, dine and joke with them on Wednesday, and perhaps play golf with them on Thursday, and expect to be taken seriously by them on Friday. Even the most optimistic proponents of dialogue would have to agree that Christ forgave his persecutors but decided to stop short of group hugs

The Cardinal Sin: Criticizing Bishops
I'm grieving! There was Cardinal Dolan laughing it up with the most pro-abortion president in history at the Al Smith dinner and the other candidate who defends killing children on a lesser scale. And, oh, Cardinal Dolan made such a case defending sitting down with those with whom he disagrees, because if he only ate with saints he'd eat all his meals alone. But this honorable man hasn't always been so discriminating. In 2009, I just learned, the cardinal refused to attend a dinner hosted by Pro-Life Wisconsin. Why? Because Judie Brown, president of American Life League, was the keynote speaker and Judie, (horrors!) criticizes the actions (and inactions) of the bishops!
So...Promoting the murder of babies in the womb by abortion and advocating infanticide of abortion survivors and forcing Catholics to cooperate in intrinsic evil doesn't disqualify a dinner guest for Cardinal Dolan, but daring to call the bishops to do their duty makes a PRO-LIFE CATHOLIC who's spent her life defending the unborn persona non grata.
Ah...but Cardinal Dolan says Judie criticized the bishops and Cardinal Dolan is an honorable man...So are they all, all honorable men.
Let us weep for our beloved Church.

Excuses, Excuses...They Just Don't Measure Up
Cardinal Dolan blogged yesterday about the Al Smith Dinner making the same kind of lame excuses for inviting Obama to dinner made previously by a member of the chancery, Ed Mechmann, and Catholic League President Bill Donohue. Every time I read one of these rah-rah civility, can't-we-all-just-get-along posts I think of other members of the hierarchy (and saints) from the past who acted just a little bit differently with death-dealing politicians.
I can't imagine, for example, Clemens von Galen Bishop of Munster preaching about Hitler's euthanasia program and then inviting him to dinner for a happy old time of respect and civility. And then there's Cardinal Joseph Mindszenty tortured by the commies. I'm sure they would happily have appeared arm in arm with him for a photo op if he would only play nice. He preferred house arrest and isolation in the American Embassy. And then there's John the Baptist who made Herod feel just a little uncomfortable. Do you think he would have attended Herod's birthday party? And what about St. Maximilian Kolbe on whose feast day Cardinal Dolan was writing. These are men from the past with the backbone to stand up to evil men and call them to repentance. I can't imagine them even making the silly statements we've seen coming from the Archdiocese.
But then the Nazis and the Commies were killing "born" people not tiny out of sight, out of mind babies in the womb. As for Herod...well, that was so long ago and everybody knows John was pretty eccentric and not really to be imitated. Besides, the unborn aren't really quite like the rest of us. They're just fetuses and you can't expect a cardinal of the Church today to act like they deserve the same kind of respect and civility as a President of the United States.
Cardinal Dolan, with all due respect, I don't buy your excuses for inviting Obama to dinner. The little murdered peers of my grandchildren deserve better. And for that matter, so do my children and grandchildren.
Here's what I posted as a comment on the Cardinal's blog responding to his defense of inviting Obama for dinner :
Christ ate with the low level outcasts of the culture. He never broke bread with Herod or Pilate. If we believe what we say about the babies being equal to the rest of us, eating with Obama and giving him a photo op laughing it up with you, Your Excellency, is like sitting down for a yuck with Hitler while his administration was killing the Jews, the gypsies, Catholic priests, political enemies, etc. As a mom of five and grandmother of twenty-one I can only say that I see little evidence in your act that you believe unborn babies are actually as important as bishops and cardinals. If Obama favored stabbing a bishop in the head and sucking out his brains there is no way you would entertain him for dinner. I will certainly pray for you and your brother bishops who have treated faithful Catholics in the pew like bothersome and brainless poor relations. Inviting Obama to the dinner is a scandal and there is no way to put a gloss on it that makes it less of a scandal!
