Guest Post: Is It Time for Cuomo and his Infanticide-supporting Buddies to have a Canossa Moment?

Catholic NY governor Andrew Cuomo celebrates
passage of legislation allowing murder of babies
in the womb through birth and beyond!

Editor's comment: In 1077 Pope Gregory VII excommunicated King Henry IV stripping him of his right to rule the Holy Roman Empire and releasing his vassals from their obligation of service? Why? Because Henry demanded the right to name bishops. (Hmm...does this sound like the current situation in China?) Henry, fearing loss of power, went to Canossa in winter, waited three days to see the pope, and then walked barefoot through the snow to meet him and beg for forgiveness. Since then a "walk to Canossa" has come to mean a humiliation. It also indicates that controversy between Church and state is nothing new. James Thunder gives us a modern situation that is a Canossa moment. Will the hierarchy of the Church in the United States take any action to address the horrifying attacks on life? Or will it be the hierarchy bending their knees to the state out of fear of losing the Almighty tax dollar? How will our bishops respond to these evil attacks on the unborn popping up like poison mushrooms all over our beloved country?

Who is Cardinal Wuerl Talking To?

Cardinal Wuerl laughing it up with the pretty people!

Wuerl says only ‘very few’ are unhappy with Pope Francis

I confess I laughed when I read the interview. Let's face it. To whom do you think Cardinal Wuerl speaks? Do you think he's spending a lot of time outside his chancery speaking to the ordinary people of the diocese or is his contact with them from the window of his lavish apartment on embassy row? (Oh look, somebody dressed in jeans and a t-shirt is going into the church to make a visit!) Here's a bit from the interview with my comments in red.

How Corrupt Politicians Operate: VA Governor Terry McAuliffe is Their Poster Boy

I received the email below from Virginia State Delegate Rob Bell recounting the corrupt way Terry McAuliffe operates. No surprise to anyone who knows his history as DNC Chairman and Democratic appartchik. Just reading about his doings glad handing and using money and influence to bribe people makes me want to take a shower. he's a slimeball who has imitated his leader Barack in running Virginia, not for the people, but for himself and the Dem's political machine. Here's the latest on his attempt to deep six the appointment of Stephen McCullough to the Virginia Supreme Court.

Terry McAuliffe: Champion of Late-Term Child Killing

Terry McAuliffe: I Will Be a “Brick Wall” Against Any Limits on Late-Term Abortions

Hey, why stop at late-term abortions? McAuliffe no doubt stands with his killer president who supports letting babies die who manage to survive abortions. No treatment for you, little unwanted scum! You were meant to die in the abortion and the fact you survived won't keep us from seeing your murder through to the end.

McAuliffe is cut from the same mold as Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Mau Tse Tung, and Pol Pot. Anything for your political ends including murder of the innocent. And to think he gets away with calling himself a Catholic! Oh, he has a dogma all right, but it sure isn't Catholic dogma. McAuliffe follows the faith according to Planned Parenthood and their dogma of abortion, perversion, and blood rituals. And that translates to defending their high sacrament of abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. McAuliffe hasn't run just a vicious anti-Cuccinelli campgaing. He's run against the faith he professes to hold. Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center describes McAuliffe's lying anti-Catholic campaign here

May God preserve Virginia from this man. We don't deserve that kind of abuse.

Terry McAuliffe: One More Lying Liberal

Even the Washington Post couldn't excuse TM's bald-faced lie in last week's debate when he said that Ken Cuccinelli committed illegal financial acts. But that just makes McAuliffe a typical lying, liberal politician. Worse than that lie is his scandalous pretense to be a Catholic. Like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, he waves the "I am a devout Catholic" flag while vigorously supporting the murder of children and advancing the homosexual agenda. He attends St. Luke's in McLean and, according to a source there, tried to get himself appointed an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, but his services were refused, thank God.

Think of the chutzpah of such a request! The man should be excommunicated along with other pro-abortion Catholic politicians who do more to kill babies

Praise to Bishop Kagan of Bismarck for Defending Life

Catholics have a serious obligation to deny their vote to those who support intrinsic evils. Bishop David Kagan is getting lambasted for telling them so. And Michael Voris is pointing out the crazy reality in the Church today where Catholics in the public square stump for child-killing while pro-life Protestants defend the truth. Time to impose Canon 915 on the Catholic renegades and deny them Communion.

Please, after watching the video visit the Bismarck diocese's Facebook page and leave a thank you. We need to praise our bishops when they act like shepherds!

The Real Presence in the Eucharist and the real presence in the Womb.

A number of years ago while contemplating Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament during adoration, I reflected on the similarity between the host and the fertilized ovum from the Life Magazine article with the famous pictures by Lennart Nilsson. During that reflection I considered how many fail to see the reality of the baby hidden in the womb.

I had always believed that the pro-life movement was close to the heart of God, but at that moment I saw distinctly how closely the two were connected. Jesus came to earth, not as Adam, a fully grown man, but the new Adam, a tiny baby hidden in the womb/tabernacle of His mother Mary. Jesus, the God-man, is not too big to humble Himself to become one with us in our weakest moment. How can we not recognize Him, then, in His babies? When we defend them we defend Him.

American Life League has produced a powerful video that links the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist to the little image of God carried in the womb. Lord, teach us to see You in our littlest brothers and sisters.

And thanks to Janet for posting the video and catching my attention. Let all men seek Him! Pass it on.

A Real Shepherd Speaks on Scandal and Abortion

Archbishop, soon to be Cardinal, Raymond Burke speaks the truth. Will pro-abortion Catholic politicians listen? If they don't will they be denied Communion to prevent sacrilege? In many dioceses they will not only not be denied Communion, they will be given podium's in Catholic churches scandalizing the faithful and leading them into confusion and sin.

Here's a portion of his statement in the video below:
"You can never vote for someone who favors absolutely what's called the right to choice of a woman to destroy human life in her womb.... This is the most fundamental and critical area, the protection of innocent and defenseless human life. But you could never justify voting for a candidate who not only does not want to limit abortion, but thinks it should be available to everyone."

Two "Catholic" Governors who Think They're Pope

It's amazing when so-called Catholic politicians presume to dictate the doctrines of the Catholic Church to the rest of us. Nancy Pelosi tried it and was roundly corrected. Ted Kennedy was a perennial false preacher (whose son and nephew are following in his dishonest footsteps). And there are hordes of others who remind me of nothing more than the barbarians who sacked Rome in the early centuries after Christ. Of course, despite their most insidious efforts, barbarians and heretics can never overcome the truth. But the neo-barbarians are still trying.

Enter Jesuit-trained Virginia governor Tim Kaine and Maryland governor Martin O'Malley posturing as Catholics who know their faith and daring to correct the archbishop of Washington, D.C. for defending Church doctrine on the sanctity of marriage. Archbishop Wuerl has said the Church will withdraw from social programs funded by the District that require the Church to cooperate with the evil of homosexuality. Since efforts to exempt the Church from the legislation forcing participation, there is no other moral choice.

Good for Archbishop Wuerl.

As for the two heretical Catholics, God help them. They should pay attention to the bumper speaker that reads, "Heaven: Don't Miss it for the World!"

Life is short, eternity is long. Nothing, absoolutely nothing, is worth risking eternal damnation.

Bishop Tobin vs Kennedy with vapid commentary from Fr. Tom Reese

Bishop Thomas Tobin has instructed Patrick Kennedy to refrain from receiving Communion. While Kennedy says the bishop has instructed priests in the diocese not to give him the Sacrament, the chancery says the bishop has never addressed the issue with his priests. Other Catholic politicians privately instructed by their bishops have essentially thumbed their noses and continued to present themselves at the altar. Whether Kennedy will obey or flaunt the bishop's admonition, time will tell. It appears he is trying to make himself a martyr to gain sympathy from the secular world, a big mistake considering they have no vote on Judgment Day.

The controversy has put another figure in the limelight as well. An article from the Providence Journal quoted Fr. Tom Reese on the controversy:
“The vast majority of bishops don’t want people denied Communion” over the abortion issue, said Thomas J. Reese, a Jesuit scholar at the Woodstock Theological Center in Washington. [The "vast majority" also covered up the priest sex abuse issue so what's your point?] “But the problem is, every time an individual bishop does it — especially if the public official has a high-profile name like Kennedy — it’s going to make headlines across the country and every bishop is going to suffer because of it,” Father Reese said. [Good bishops doing the right thing does tend to make the bad ones "suffer" -- like the bishops in Henry VIII's England who must have been very put out by Bishop John Fisher's martyrdom revealing their cowardly infidelity!]....
Scholar Reese said the bishops have debated in previous years the issue of whether they should step beyond such appeals to the individual Catholic’s conscience. The context for the debate was the 2004 presidential candidacy of Sen. John F. Kerry, a Catholic Democrat from Massachusetts who supports abortion rights. Father Reese said fewer than 20 bishops supported a policy of denying Communion to such officials.[Faithful disciples are almost always in the minority. Look at the apostles!]...

In 2004, a large majority of bishops “tried to persuade the minority not to do this — using Communion as a weapon,” Father Reese said, but the conference could not come to a consensus view on the issue. [It's not a "weapon" any more than the surgeon's scalpel. It's a medicinal treatment to call back a soul in serious danger of damnation.]
Father Reese stressed that withholding Communion is not as grave a penalty as excommunication, which separates a Catholic from all the sacraments. If a bishop denies Communion to a Catholic, he or she “is still a Catholic,” Father Reese said. Indeed, he said “it would take a canon lawyer” to say whether a Catholic denied Communion in his own diocese would be free to receive Communion elsewhere. [Excuse us, Fr. Reese, but the Canon Law already exists -- 915 which forbids Communion to those "who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin." A number of Vatican officials including Cardinal Francis Arinze, Archbishop Raymond Burke, and indeed, the pope himself when he was head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, have called for the penalty to be imposed.]

Reese's position is not surprising. The former editor of the liberal Jesuit magazine America (He resigned under Vatican pressure.) can always be counted on to put a heterodox spin on any story relating to the U.S. bishops' exercising their obligation under canon law to discipline "manifest public sinners." A fellow blogger described Fr. Reese as a "disingenuous, lying jerk" last May when Fr. Reese attacked the orthodox bishops who dared to criticize the reprehensible action of Notre Dame in honoring President Obama. While I prefer not to call names, I'd have to say that CMR has his adjectives absolutely right. Liars and disingenuous men in roman collars are the favorite commentators of the mainstream media. They can always be depended on when it comes to attacking the good bishops and holding up the wolves as models of christianit - just what the media is looking for.

Fr. Reese, you ought to notice that no one who really cares about the faith is listening to your vapid stupidity. You do, however, scandalize the many who are poorly catechized which is a millstone offense.

But Fr. Reese's behavior is worse than stupidity. Embracing the lie that allows the murder of millions of babies makes him a cooperator in a crime against humanity that has taken the lives of more innocents than all the atrocities of the 20th century combined. Like Joseph Goebbles, who cast Hitler's murders in a favorable light, Fr. Reese does the same for Barack Obama while he attacks the bishops who attempt to defend the innocent. God help you, Fr. Reese! You will answer for every innocent life murdered under the banner of Obama/Pelosi liberalism.

What's your soul worth, Nancy?

Nancy Pelosi meets with Pope Benedict XVI tomorrow with a U.S. delegation. This is the kind of photo op that pro-abortion Catholics love. "See, world, I'm shaking hands with the pope demonstrating that I really am an 'ardent Catholic.'"

So what are real Catholics to think? I offer this from California Catholic Daily:

"Fr. Tom Euteneuer, president of Human Life International, told LifeSiteNews.com that HLI will be briefing the Vatican 'so they are aware of her dismal record on life issues.'

"'It is our hope that the Holy Father will not grant the floundering Speaker of the House what she surely wants and expects, a quick and valuable photo-op, but will rather give her a stern lecture on contraception and abortion and let her know that her eternal salvation is in danger,' said Fr. Euteneuer. 'Further, this would be the perfect opportunity to formally excommunicate the Speaker, as she has done everything a public official possibly can to declare her lack of communion with the Holy Father and the Roman Catholic Church on every conceivable issue.'"

A little fasting and prayer is in order for this heretical Catholic. I feel a special concern for Nancy Pelosi for two reasons. We not only share the same Alma Mater, Trinity College in Washington, D.C., but we also share a birthday (I'm younger) the day after a Marian feast day. So I ask the Blessed Mother's intercession for her wayward daughter. God doesn't want the destruction of any of his children no matter how malicious they are in their evil doings. Is Pelosi malicious? I have to believe that someone publicly corrected so often by bishops knows what she's doing. No one can be that stupid. So, Nancy, please repent. To paraphrase St. Thomas More - It profits a woman not to trade her soul for the whole world -- but for Speaker of the House and the Democratic party? When the gavel drops on the last day what will be your eternal judgment?

Please pray for Nancy and the party of evil...and while you're at it pray for all the stupid Republicans who abandoned conservative principles long ago. Then work for the restoration of Constitutional principles. Have you read the Constitution today?

Will Obama Risk Holy Hell Over FOCA?

Ray Kerrison of the New York Post has a powerful article,Obama's Holy Hell questioning whether, as new president, Obama will really risk all-out war with the Catholic hierarchy over FOCA. It begins:

"IF President-elect Barack Obama goes through with his campaign pledge to sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act, holy hell is going to break loose.

"FOCA may be the most radical social legislation in decades. It seeks to strip every last restraint from abortion - outlawing states' requirements for waiting periods, informed consent or parental consent; preventing health and safety regulation of abortion clinics and abortionists - and even ending restrictions on partial-birth abortion.

"With one stroke of the president's pen, it would nullify every one of the 330 or so federal, state and local abortion laws on the books, most of them supported by a majority of Americans.

"And that's just the start.....(more)

The E- word, that is excommunication, comes up with Cardinal George saying, depending on the wording of the law, it may be a real possibility for any Catholic politician who would formally cooperate with evil by voting for FOCA.

As a serious Catholic who has watched the bishops tapdance and sway over many issues, I hope they will finally find their spines and stand firm on a moral position that is unnegotiable. It's long past time for them to enforce Canon Law 915 and refuse Communion to pro-abortion Catholic politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy and all the rest who call themselves "devout Catholics" while they vote to murder children and destroy marriage. Faithful Catholics need to hold their bishops' feet to the fire and take back the Church demanding that the bishops preach Humanae Vitae, discipline those scandalizing the flock, and stop waffling on doctrine. If the evil positions of Barack Obama cause that to happen, his election may turn out to be a blessing even if it results in active persecution.
