Tweeting the Truth! Send a big thank you to Bishop Tobin.

When a bishop acts like a bishop, something all too rare today, we need to thank him. So I urge you to send Bishop Tobin a big thank you for tweeting the truth. Some are saying he apologized after a tremendous international (and hate-filled) backlash, but that isn't true.

Here's the tweet. Simple. It just tells Catholics the truth. A friend of mine from the San Francisco area describes the parades there where homosexuals go nude, masturbate in public, engage in sodomy in the street, where S&M garb as master and slave, etc. Yes indeed, "pride" events celebrate grave immorality. Bishop Tobin spoke the simple truth.

Now, let's discuss the backlash (88,000 tweets and counting) which mostly accused the bishop of hatred and spewed other personal attacks on both him and the Church. Some celebrities brought up the priest sex abuse scandal in their comments which required ignoring that over 80% of the priest abuse was HOMOSEXUAL in nature. Really...help to prove the bishop's point, why don't you!

You can't have it both ways, Hollywood. If homosexual priests are harmful to children so are the homosexuals in the general population who abuse children. And there are plenty of them including some of the drag queens invited to public libraries to prance and preen. And then there is the evidence of the damage to children who are sexually abused. A number of gay men report being abused as minors. As Michael Brown reported in 2017, Yes, Childhood Sexual Abuse Often Does Contribute to Homosexuality

Bishop Tobin's tweet was true. He took the tsunami of criticism as an opportunity to clarify, but did NOT apologize for his tweet. Here's what Catholic News Agency reported:
“The Catholic Church has respect and love for members of the gay community, as do I,” the bishop wrote in a statement Sunday, adding that “individuals with same-sex attraction are beloved children of God and our brothers and sisters.”...

Tobin expressed regret that his tweet had “turned out to be so controversial in our community, and offensive to some, especially in the gay community.” He did not apologize for or retract any of the content of his original statement.
“That certainly was not my intention, but I understand why a good number of individuals have taken offense,” said Tobin, also acknowledging that he had received “widespread support” for his tweet.
While noting that he was not motivated by hatred, Tobin said that as a bishop, “my obligation before God is to lead the faithful entrusted to my care and to teach the faith, clearly and compassionately, even on very difficult and sensitive issues,” said Tobin. “That is what I have always tried to do - on a variety of issues - and I will continue doing so as contemporary issues arise.”
I'm sending a note of thanks to Bishop Tobin for speaking the truth in love. If you want to join me, the contact information for the Diocese of Providence is:

  1. It was my understanding that he took down the tweet, the very definition of a retraction. Further what does "
but I understand why a good number of individuals have taken offense," mean?? The cherry on top is "As the gay community gathers for a rally this evening, I hope that the event will be a safe, positive and productive experience for all."

You might say the sarc was on, but the fact remains, where is the original tweet?

Tell me why a Catholic Cardinal Bishop or Priest has not given a similar lecture , aside from the late great Fr John O Conner who was punished and sanctioned by his Order Superior.
Why are we happy with crumbs of the truth?

  3. Hmm...I didn't realize he deleted the original tweet. Not cool. He could have put his additional comments on the original tweet.

  4. Sorry! Mea Culpa! The tweet is still there and my source was wrong! I am twitter-naive and should have double checked.

  5. What exactly is Bishop Tobin apologizing for?

As someone stated in a comment on Vox . "We were once a church of martyrs now we are a church of garters."

  7. I am sick and tired of clergy including the pope telling me these people "are our brothers and sisters."

What proof is there any of these filthy people are Baptized born again Christians? There could be a couple of them, but I doubt more than a tiny tiny per cent are born of the spirit as children of God. They ARE NOT just like us, members of our family, part of our community, and we owe them nothing. They are of Satan and of this world.

Stop with the "feel good rhetoric" and call them what they are: self condemned.

  8. I copy here a quote from another article posted today on Tradition, Family, and Property.

"The heretic “intends to assent to Christ, yet he fails in his choice of those things wherein he assents to Christ, because he chooses not what Christ really taught, but the suggestions of his own mind.”

None of us are free to make up doctrine no matter how nice it sounds--such as, "we are all God's children."

  9. Chriss, many of them probably are baptized Christians. All of us have twigs (or fruits and nuts) on our family tree. Does God love them? Of course! How can we "owe them nothing" when Jesus gave His life for them. And if they are still alive, they are not beyond God's grace. They may have embraced Satan, but they can still repent. And we should desperately want that. Jesus left the 99 to look for the one lost. Should we not imitate him?

  10. Mary Ann , I am going to jump n here but I hope I do not offend.

IMHO it is the responsibility of the pastor to let a homosexual couple know it is not acceptable for them to kiss on the lips during any kiss of peace. (Seen that in Church and been there to see it first hand )
The pastor needs to have the courage to inform known homosexual parishioners that more intimate signs of overt same sex affection are scandalous to Catholic parishioners. He needs to inform then while living as active same sex couples they may not receive Communion unless they first confess their sins and intend a firm purpose of amendment.

In support of Chriss' position , might I add ...good luck with any of this because there are sodomites and lesbians ready willing and waiting to make this an issue at Sunday Mass.

No we cannot judge a person's motivation or intent , but after your children witness enough of this crap in sex ed ( Parochial too) or in Church , It is DONE !
I personally know a Catholic home schooled Catholic boy who, after being indoctrinated at Rider College and in the local Novus Ordo parishes, decided he must also be homosexual after going away to Rider.
One more example, if you will indulge me..........at an SSPX chapel on a pilgrimage to a shrine , an overtly looking and vocally confiding homosexual man, complained personally to me that ,"....the other parishioners looked at him like he was the devil." He was in the choir, also was an aspiring opera singer .......NOW he is an FSSP pastor and singing the Latin Mass!

Is he chaste? I have NO CLUE . But honestly as a parent I do not think his demeanor and sympathies lend to sound Catholic example for preaching and teaching to youth.
"Example" was stressed in my Parochial education as the foremost evangelical tool.

So tell me how does one Evangelize "all God's children" including sodomites and lesbians with a cowardly pastor who risks being axed by his Bishop, without scandalizing and influencing the rest of the congregants who are sitting on Fr James Martin's politically correct LGBTQ fence in total confusion?

  11. Couldn't agree more, Elpine. But we still can't judge the state of anyone's soul. People only listen to moral challenges from those they think love them. So the best thing we can do is see others like Mother Teresa did as Jesus in his most distressing disguises. The woman at the well responded to Christ's call to repentance because of His kindness to her. It's not easy to treat those embracing diabolical evils with kindness, but that may be the thing that calls to their hearts. Norma McCorvey responded to Flip Benham's kindness when she was still in the belly of the beast.

  12. Unless we have some bishops and pastors who have real testosterone MaryAnn, and they are willing to confront the beast from the pulpit, I predict more and more right thinking parents will be exiting the pews with their children in tow . I have heard from many of them over the years.
Too bad the leadership of the Church is not more concerned with families exiting as they are about being perceived as "charitable" to the LGBTQ crowd.
A solid outspoken from the pulpit pastor is a rare commodity these days.

Today the "marginalized" are NOT the "rigid" Catholics who "count beads" and "guard the ashes" according to Pope Francis.
Yet he could have fooled me over the past forty some years about that!

I know one older hx man who said he is NOT LOUD and Proud .He went on to say how his life changed as a child at the hands of an older man.
Personally, I have asked many homosexual males when they first knew they were "gay".
Without exception , each has related their first sexual encounter as a child or adolescent with an older male. One forty something man began to cry on my front porch
after he told me of a teen aged relationship with another male. I corrected him and said, " I did not ask about a "relationship" , I asked about your first sexual encounter."
His answer was, "... when a very mature sixth grade boy had sex with me when I was 8 or 9 in the bathroom of my Parochial Grade school."
"Oh, so you were a victim of child sexual abuse", I stated.
Then he broke down in tears and we sat and talked for a longer time.
As I said above , I have spoken to many many homosexuals, some of them priests but most of them in the Arts.

He was willing to confide in me because I was kind BUT pointed in my questions.
Even Milo in his Voris interview while defending his same sex relationship , told the ridiculously giggling Voris he was not sure if he became homosexed oriented when he was raped by a priest or if he was born that way.

This is called a psycho sexual mental trauma and the LGBTQ lobby which includes Psychologists, is keeping it buried and the Hierarchy of the Church is also complicit in this lie.
    Next Prediction........their numbers will grow!

  13. St Catherine of Sienna on judging homosexual acts.

"Here is a quote from one of the greatest saints ever regarding homosexuality. St. Catherine relays words of Our Lord, about the vice against nature, which contaminated part of the clergy in her time. Referrng to sacred ministers, He said: “They not only fail from resisting this frailty [ of fallen human nature]…but do even worse as they commit the cursed sin against nature. Like the blind and stupid having dimmed the light of the understanding, they do not recoginze the disease and misery in which they find themselves. For this not only causes Me nausea, but displeases even the demons themselves, whom these miserable creatures have chosen as their lords. For Me, this sin against nature is so abominable that , for it alone, five cities were submersed, by virtue of the jugdment of My Divine Justice, which could no longer bear them…It is disagreable to the demon, not because evil displeases them and they find pleasure in good, but because their nature is angelic and thus is repulsed upon seeing such an enormous sin being commited. It is true that it is the demons who hit the sinner with the poisoned arrow of lust, but when a man carries out such a sinful act, the demons leave.

St.Catherine of Siena, El diabolo, in Orbas de Santa Catarina de Siena

“We’ve had enough of exhortations to be silent. Cry out with a thousand tongues - I see the world is rotten because of silence.” - St. Catherine of Sienna "
