The Anti-Trump Freak Show in Chicago Has Begun

I didn't watch the opening night of the Democrat convention. There's only so much nausea a person can stomach. I did however go to last night's six-plus-hour yawn-fest on YouTube and scroll through it. The first thing I noticed was the absence of American flags. No surprise there. The modern Democrats hate America! The flag to them is an abomination to be burnt, trod upon, and ripped to shreds along with the "one nation under God" it represents.

Have you ever read James Clavell's short novel, The Children's Story? It describes a teacher who takes over a classroom of youngsters after the nation's defeat by a Communist regime. The entire story takes place during less than an hour as the attractive young teacher molds the little ones, rewarding them for rejecting religion and patriotism. She cuts up the flag and gives each child a piece. She wins over the one hostile child whose dad has been sent to a "reeducation camp" to cure his "wrong think."

How does she do all this in a matter of minutes? With rewards, language manipulation, and by giving little Johnny a position of importance in the "administration."

We are seeing The Children's Story enacted in Chicago as I write. After decades of brainwashing, language manipulation, freebies galore paid for by working taxpayers, the woke agenda has gone mainstream. For those with memories, it's the same old same old. The Democrats illustrate Joseph Goebbels' statements on propaganda. [For any Democrats reading this, Goebbels was Adolph Hitler's minister of propaganda.] What's happening today is essentially a repeat of the Nazi manipulation of the masses. Here are just a handful of Goebbels many statements:

 A lie told once remains a lie but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.

Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident they are acting on their own free will.

There was no point in seeking to convert the intellectuals. For intellectuals would never be converted and would anyway always yield to the stronger, and this be "the man in the street." Arguments must therefore be crude, clear and forcible, and appeal to emotions and instincts, not the intellect. Truth was unimportant and entirely subordinate to tactics and psychology.

Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.

The convention gave demented Joe Biden a five-minute standing ovation after his claim, “America, I gave my best to you,” This from a man who's never done a real day's work in his life. His politics have always been about grasping power, stealing from the taxpayers, and slandering and attempting to destroy political opponents. 

Remember Robert Bork? Biden and Ted Kennedy created a new verb with their vicious attack on one of the most brilliant lawyers in the country to keep him off the Supreme Court. They succeeded and attempted to do it again to Clarence Thomas. Fortunately, their technological lynching with the cooperation of trumped up charges by Anita Hill failed. But the drive-by media continues the character assassination of Clarence Thomas to this day. The same despicable strategy continues at almost every nomination of a conservative to the Supreme Court. Ask Brett Kavanaugh!

One of the most tragic moments of the night to me was Archbishop Blase Cupich appearing on the stage to give the invocation which began:

We praise you, O God of all creation. Quicken in us a resolve to protect your handiwork.

Really? The Democrats and Planned Parenthood's handiwork? Did he say one word of caution about their satanic agenda? Did he practice the corporal work of mercy, "to admonish the sinner"? Does he give one thought to the souls of those tens of thousands of people wedded to intrinsic evils supported by the Democrat platform? Apparently not.

Consider -- this is a convention conceived in hell and dedicated to the murder of babies in the womb through all nine months of pregnancy. Not only that, but the Dems endorse gender ideology that abuses already born children and the promotion of satanic attacks on marriage and the family. They not only embrace instrinsic moral evils but they will be taking place outside the convention in Planned Parenthood's mobile van which is offering free vasectomies and medication abortions. This is the satanic blood sacrifice fueling the convention. 

Is this the "handiwork" protected by God? Will the Democrat "aspirations...reweave the fabric of America"? Cupich should be defrocked. He is one of the false shepherds described by Jeremiah and Zechariah:

Woe to the pastors, that destroy and tear the sheep of my pasture, saith the Lord.                                                                                                          Jeremiah 23:1

O shepherd, and idol, that forsaketh the flock: the sword upon his arm and upon his right eye: his arm shall quite wither away, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.                                                                                        Zechariah 11:17 

It's a good week to do reparation and pray the rosary that the Lord, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, and St. Michael the Archangel will thrust into hell Satan and all his evil pomps. The drive-by media is talking about the great show just like they glorified the Olympic eulogy to evil. Are we surprised? They walk without deviation in the footsteps of Joseph Goebbels.

Yes, readers, we live in serious and sad times. The best response is to increase our desire to submit to God's will. He allows all this evil for the good that He bringa about through it. If the evil we see makes us fall to our knees in prayer and sacrifice, uniting ourselves to the passion of Christ, we will be blessed by it. Evil never wins even when in all appearances it seems to. Think of the martyrs covered in pitch and lit as torches in Nero's garden. Their light reflected the light of Christ and their suffering glorified God.
