Is Anyone Surprised that Nobody Trusts Journalists...

RINO Liz Cheney
....or most of what comes from the Left?

Fr. Gordon MacRae published another tour de force on January 6th updating an article from 2022 and briefly addressing Biden's recent disgraceful action of awarding Liz Cheney the medal of freedom. Biden also awarded the medal of freedom to George Soros, one of America's greatest enemies, who has used his money to subvert our justice system by buying prosecutors all over the country. Soros can be directly linked to the political persecution of Donald Trump and election interference. Here's a map showing how broad his influence in perverting our justice system extends. Consider how much damage to justice has been done through his bought and paid-for lackeys.

But I digress.

Fr. MacRae's article compares the January 6th committee hearings to the Watergate hearings and emphasizes the difference between the journalistic approach to getting at the truth of Watergate vs manipulation and distortion by the left's media lackeys of the January 6th events. In 1972 Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein were allowed to "go where the facts led" while investigating the Watergate break-in. Not so with the January 6th reporting in 2022. The press actively worked to advance the left's agenda and spin the committee hearings to demonize Trump and his supporters.

The committee continually lied about police officers being murdered that day, destroyed and hid exculpating evidence, and used inflammatory language to create their false narrative of insurrection.  They continually claimed the murder of police officers when the only murders that day were two unarmed Trump supporters, Ashli Babbit and Roseanne Boyland, both killed by Capitol police officers later decorated for their actions.

The lies continue today with the mainstream media's biased description of the protests using loaded language to control the public's perception of the events. What a difference between the demonization of the January 6ers vs. the benevolent treatment of the violent riots after George Floyd's death from a fentanyl overdose.

Describing a PEW survey on journalists' perception of their news coverage, Fr. MacRae illustrated the discrepancy between what the news industry thinks of itself vs. what the public thinks. I'll give the results of just one finding, "Journalists and the public stand far apart on how well they think news outlets perform their key functions":

67% of journalists report that the quality of their coverage of important news is very good or good compared to only 41% of the public.

65% of journalists say they report the news accurately compared to only 29% of the public.

52% of journalists report that they fulfill their role as a watchdog of government. Only 29% of the public agrees.

43% of journalists say that they manage or correct misinformation in their reporting. Only 25% of the public agrees, and 51% of the public says that journalists do a poor job at correcting misinformation.”

It's pretty clear that the journalists surveyed are mostly out of touch with their readers/viewers, so the finding that journalists don't much like social media is no surprise. The truth hurts, after all. Like the big studios which have lost control over the film industry, Big media is no fan of blogs, websites, YouTube channels, X, etc. that they can't control. They want a monopoly so they can spin the "facts" any way they like, withhold information while they tell only a part of the truth, etc. It's a tactic with the smell of sulphur.

One media source you can trust is Fr. MacRae's posts at Beyond These Stone Walls. I recommend subscribing to his website. Everything he writes is worth reading! You can subscribe at the end of the article. What a good way to start the new year.
