Bishop Foys finally apologizes for his rash judgment.

Well, Bishop Foys finally released a letter to Covington High's parents about the mess over his leap to judgment condemning Nick Sandmann and the Covington High kids for what happened at the Lincoln Memorial after the March for Life.

Before you get too excited praising the bishop for the letter, consider that he released it hours after receiving a "preservation of evidence demand" from top libel lawyer L. Lin Wood who hand delivered it Thursday evening. Wow, the diocesan lawyers must have been up all night penning the apology letter sent to the parents. Nothing like a little libel lawsuit threat to get the ball rolling, eh?

The apology letter has not replaced an earlier statement on the Covington website which was still up as of 30 seconds ago:

On Monday afternoon the Covington Police alerted us that they had intelligence concerning a planned protest, Jan. 22, at Covington Catholic High School and a vigil at the Diocesan Curia. Due to threats of violence and the possibility of large crowds the Diocese was advised to close Covington Catholic High School, the Diocesan Curia and neighboring Covington Latin School. We thank law enforcement officers for their protection and will reopen when they say it is safe to do so.

This is what the Democrats and their thugs in the media and the "entertainment" industry have brought us to -- where a bunch of teenagers are vilified and threatened with death for standing and smiling while being harassed by a leftist liar with a drum. The kids are getting death threats and suspicious packages are being delivered to the diocese and the school. Investigators are looking into felony charges for those tweeting and Facebooking violent threats. It's called "terroristic threatening" and law enforcement is taking it seriously.

I contend that Fr. Beck left the Church a long time ago, but he hangs around in a collar spewing to any liberal he can get to listen the gospel of the new Church of Nice.  This is not just a made up term.  It is very real and a necessary institution to get all (in their dreams) Catholics on board with total indifferentism toward any and all religions including “none of the above,” if that's what you prefer.  No real shepherd would say the things he does.  

Beck received attention this past week with his outrageous comments on national news about the boys from Covington Catholic High School.  Rush Limbaugh, a non-Catholic, was the only one I know who has so far called him out.  It’s been CRICKETS from the bishops, who acted very differently toward Fr. Mark Goring, yanking him faster than you can blink off the internet.

As Tucker Carlson said last night, this wasn't about what the kids did (nothing wrong) but about who they are, Catholic white males. The media, who couldn't spend two minutes covering the March for Life, focused like a laser beam on this fake story turning these youngster's into "Hitler youth," ravaging "beasts" going after their "prey," and other abominable epithets.

We are living in the 1984 universe of "thought crimes" and "face crimes" where the liberal left pillories anyone who dares to defy their godless agenda. If the liberal left take over the White House in 2020 it will Big Brother on a rampage.

Some of you are no doubt fending off vicious online attacks, instigated by loudmouths on the internet with blue checkmarks next to their names. Your parents are worried sick about what all this portends – for college admissions and scholarships and employment prospects that now appear dimmed by false news accounts about your actions at the March for Life. 

"I wish I could offer a word of reassurance amid your troubles. But all I can say is that everyone failed you. The elite media failed its duty to truth and fairness. Your school failed you. Your diocese failed you. Your Church failed you, with some of the nation’s most visible Catholics, lay and clerical, rushing to join the pile-on. America failed you...."

The Marine Corps was pulling out of Vietnam in 1970 when Phillips was 16. Even if he went into the Corps as an emancipated minor he could not have served in Vietnam, although, according to the article he never claimed to. In view of the fact that every major mainstream media outlet calls him a Vietnam vet, it's hard to give him a pass. There's sure been no attempt on his part to correct the record.

Covington Diocese Website is Down This Early Morning

There is no retraction yet by the Diocese of Covington (as of 7:00 a.m. today) of the knee jerk response to Nathan Phillips' street theater performance condemning the Covington High School boys for disrespecting him. When I looked at it yesterday the statement condemning the boys was still up. This morning the site is down. The high school's site is also down.

One mom whose daughter was at the Lincoln Memorial with another group describes how the drum-beating liberal activist first approached her 15-year-old daughter (wearing a pink Trump 2020 hat) but moved on when her frightened and horrified reaction failed to provide the correct atmosphere for his "victim of the racists" scenario. Adult male terrorizes teenage girl would not make a particularly sympathetic headline now would it?

Has anyone in the country missed the story about the evil, racist, white-privileged,"Hitler youth" boys who mobbed a poor innocent Indian (a Vietnam vet to boot) just minding his own business? They scalped him you know after infecting his drum with smallpox and driving him onto the Trail of Tears. (Did I miss anything?) I'm not justifying the shameful acts and betrayal of native Americans by the U.S. government 150 years ago, but these boys didn't do any of that!

The incident on Friday looked more like Custer's last stand by a liberal leftist with a history of dishonest street theater aiming to annihilate a group of youngsters who are pro-life and pro-Trump. Yup, as more comes out, the second scenario appears to be the accurate one. Go after a relatively soft target, freeze it and destroy it to make points for your "cause."

I emailed the note below to the Diocese of Covington this morning and hope their server is overwhelmed with messages supporting the boys and their families. I sent a similar email to Archbishop Kurtz of Louisville who joined the ignorant attack on the boys. The children deserved better from their spiritual fathers:
