A Week of Good-Byes: Death Comes to Us All!

It's been a time of good-byes for celebrities this past week or so. Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, and yesterday Gloria Steinem. Many will relate immediately to country music icon Dolly and actor Tim Curry, but I wonder how many even remember who Gloria Steinem was. Do you?

If I went out to do a man-in-the-street interview (using "man" in the generic sense), and asked, "How do you feel about the death of Gloria Steinem?" I would expect a puzzled look and a "Who's Gloria Steinem?" from most people. She got her fifteen minutes of fame during the era of feminism, but that era is fading. Feminism has been in its death throes for a long time. Babies and stay-at-home moms are making a comeback as the White House Baby Boom illustrates.

The Irony of the Feminist Outcome! Women no Longer Exist.

Years ago I debated the abortion issue alongside a pro-life doctor against two feminists. Afterwards, one of the women came up to me and said, "You're good; you don't need him." A man, in her eyes, was a useless impediment even if he was a medical doctor who had delivered thousands of babies. That was about 40 years ago. In the interim, feminists seemed to do well, breaking the "glass ceiling" and taking their place as CEOs and in the board rooms.

But there were other effects also, perhaps unintended. Feminist radicalism turned many men into "metrosexuals," feminized men; and homosexuality grew in epidemic proportions. The bizarro world of fashion today dresses male models in outlandish girly costumes that make many of us cringe. "Who wears that stuff?" Perverts in pride parades, of course.

And the lament grows: "Why can't I find a good man to date?"

            One of the advantages of being old is you have a much greater knowledge of history than most others. My mother ingrained in us five boys that we must always respect women. As an example her instructions for riding the city bus: If a woman got on the bus and had to stand, we were to stand and offer our seat. My familiarity with the feminist movement does not go back as far as the fight for the right for women to vote; however, I am familiar with the fight for equal wages and jobs. As a young married man, I attended a trade school in the daytime and worked on an assembly line in the evening to support my family. I worked on the same line with women putting together components to be installed in the old vacuum tube-type computers. This is when I learned that women, doing the same job as I were paid about 10 percent less than the men. What made it worse was the women did a better job, being more patient than the men. At that time it was also difficult for women to enter into the variety of jobs available to men.

Do these cries sound familiar? They're the anthem of modern day radical feminists. You know the ones who organized the women's march against Trump and national call-in-sick-to-work day. But, wouldn't you know, one Australian woman is turning the feminist agenda on its head. In an article for the Daily Telegraph, editor in chief, Sarrah Le Marquand asserts that no women with school age children should legally be allowed to stay home. That's right - NO CHOICE! She wants to force women to work. It's funny because in the next breath she's lauding the idea of giving women six months paid maternity leave (because that's equal- please tell me any situation in which men get 6 months paid leave).

A Modest Proposal for "A Day Without a Woman": Boycott all Male Inventions Tomorrow!

Get out your tie shoes, girls. Velcro was invented by men.
(Although it's likely sneakers were invented by men too.)

Tomorrow's "A Day Without a Woman" event is the follow-up to the liberal, pro-abortion women's march that featured radical, foul-mouthed, leftwing  female celebrities as speakers. Since most women don't fit the category of male-hating, abortion-loving, LGBTQXYZ-advancing women, we weren't represented at the march and won't be joining the silly boycott tomorrow either.

Many hard-working women will be seriously disadvantaged by this ridiculous event. Think of the working mothers, especially lower income women, who don't have the luxury of skipping work and will have to scramble to find child-care for their young school-aged children in areas, like Alexandria where schools are closed for the day. Consider the impact if large numbers of nurses or others in critical professions joined the protest.

I hate to say it, but some women....

The mainstream media loves to mock Republican presidents (even when they're democrat lite). Think of Gerald Ford being shown as a clumsy oaf, Ronald Reagan just a dumb B-level movie star, George W. as a doofus, and poor VP Dan Quayle who couldn't spell potato. But their guys... I heard the interview with a politician who was spouting off about Obama's high I.Q. When the interviewer pressed him about what it is, he, of course, didn't know. Wish I could remember the source. I just laughed.

Democrats really are so much fun to spoof. They take themselves so seriously and they don't mind lying. Every time Joe Biden opens his mouth he puts both feet in and then tries to get his hands in as well. Poor guy can hardly make a statement without showing his ignorance of history and even the people around him. Remember when he tried to get the man in a wheelchair to stand up and be recognized?

Liberals champion so many evil  things how can they be funny? How do you crack jokes about murdering babies? Although they say Ted Kennedy took great delight in making jokes about Chappaquiddick. Apparently he found his killing of Mary Jo Kopechne a real bellylaugh! Maybe you had to be there. Check it out here.

When Les Femmes got its start we had a mock funeral for radical feminism on the Capitol Steps. We "buried" a lot of relics of feminism. We also, in keeping with the funeral idea, read a last will and testament with items left to those who advanced the feminist agenda. Among them was a snorkel for Ted Kennedy. Imagine the feminists holding up as an icon a man who was a notorious womanizer. But they take themselves so seriously they never see the ridiculous in their own nutty positions. As long as they could count on him to support baby killing he could diddle as many young girls as he wanted. Crazy!

No matter how bad things get, never lose your sense of humor!

You Can't Fool Mother Nature: i.e., Pope Paul VI was right

Pope Paul VI was a prophet when he predicted the negative effects of artificial birth control. Particulary on target were his statements about the evil effects on the relationships between men and women:

Another thing to be dreaded is that men who have come to take contraceptive practices for granted, will lose all sense of reverence for women. With no heed for their physical or mental balance, they will make them mere instruments of their lust. No longer will women be looked up to by men as companions to whom they owe love and respect.

It isn't just relationships that have been poisoned, however. Women are paying the price for their "reproductive freedom" in their own bodies. Hormonal birth control is a woman's daily dose of poison. She may not die of it today, but the damage to her body is irrevocable and the increase in the likelihood she'll die of breast or other form of cancer is significant. Who really benefits from women "controlling their bodies?" Rapacious men who want the enjoyment of sex without any of the responsibility. They used to have to pay hookers to get it. Now they just "hook up."

The dangers to women from chemical birth control are well known and have been for years, but the unpopular truth has been suppressed. The government medical community aids and abets the silence and enables the exploitation of women, especially teens. Approving over the counter sale of the morning after bill, which contains a mega-dose of hormones, ensures that young women will suffer serious health consequences in the future. How many times will young girls, encouraged by their boyfriends, resort to the pill during their teen years? How many will die of breast cancer before they're 50?

Who cares after all? Women have always been seen as sex objects by immoral and irresponsible men. The playboy's greatest coup was convincing women that to be equal to men they needed to be equally irresponsible. But women are the ones who pay the biggest price for their so-called freedom.

Read Humanae Vitae and see all the prophecies that have come to pass since its release: loss of respect for women, more infidelity, government using birth control and abortion against their people, more divorce and breakdown of the marital bond. There are plenty of problems in the Catholic Church because, while it's an institution founded by Christ, he uses men and some of them are Judases. Nevertheless, the fullness of truth is in her doctrine whether anyone follows it or not.

Young person tells experience of defending Cathedral from feminist horde

Catholic News Agency reported in October on a massive demonstration outside the cathedral in Neuquen (western Argentina) by feminists demanding the right to kill their children. The ferocity of the women (notice the lesbian sign on one protestor) is similar to the one against the 69 year old woman by proposition 8 opponents. Are you ready to defend Holy Mother Church as these courageous young people did? Pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially fear of the Lord and fortitude. And make the five first Saturdays in reparation for blasphemies against the Blessed Mother.
