How many urban voters will have to walk the gauntlet to vote on election day? Would you feel intimidated if you walked up to the entrance of the polls and saw two big guys (white or black) dressed in paramilitary uniforms smacking nightsticks against their hands? I'm not easily intimidated, but I think I would -- especially if I was wearing a campaign button. Would you be willing to take campaign literature from folks outside, especially if you knew who the tough guys were supporting? In 2008 charges of intimidation were dropped by the Justice Department against the Black Panthers. However, insiders at Justice testified to the Human Rights Commission that they were told no charges should be brought against blacks when white victims were involved. Pick up the latest issue, with teen idol and star of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” Lucy Hale on the cover, and you’ll see everything from “25 Sex Moves He Secretly Wishes You’d Try” to “The Naughty Orgasm Trick Couples Love.” An earlier edition, with Ashley Greene as cover girl, offers readers “52 Sex Tips” and information about what to do “when your vagina acts weird after sex.”Hearst says Cosmo targets teens with the graphics, color choices, sland and young models as cover stars. Publishers who go after youngsters deserve the biblical millstone and a very deep lake. I've been complaining to managers, putting that magazine behind others on the rack or turning it backwards for years (when I wasn't sticking it under bags of dogfood). Wrapping it up in brown paper isn't as good as the publishers wrapping it up for good, but it's better than nothing. Complain to a store manager this week about Cosmo and ask for it to be wrapped!

NFP: It's About Planning to Have Families
Earlier today, I read a blog entry about Human Life International and did a double take at a comment accusing Fr. Paul Marx, HLI founder, of "supporting birth control." Reading on, I realized the individual was talking about natural family planning (NFP) which he obviously considered immoral and one more item in the Planned Parenthood inventory. As a long-time NFP teacher, I couldn't disagree more.

Thank God There's Something to Laugh About!
You just gotta be grateful for Joe Biden. He gives us something to laugh about. Did you hear about him saying his dad "respected Obama"...well..."would've respected Obama." I guess he was trying to channel his dad.
Is Anyone Surprised that the Nun on the Bus Supports Obama?
Simone Campbell, the chief nun on the bus, showed up at the Democrats convention to shill for the most rabid abortion proponent ever to sit in the oval office. While the Catholic Church teaches that abortion is unequivocally and always wrong, Sr. Simone doesn't know "if abortion should be illegal." But she sure knows that government handouts are the solution to all our problems. Not too surprising. Campbell heads up NETWORK which has a long history of supporting liberalism and working to elect liberal politicians. NETWORK cares more about the wetlands than babies growing in the internal wetland of the womb.
Campbell also misrepresented the Catholic bishops when she said they condmned the Ryan budget. The bishops did no such thing. A committee of the bishops' bureaucracy which is known for its partisan politics went after Ryan. No surprise. It's common knowledge that many USCCB committees list left. That's why so many orthodox Catholics would like to see it shut down. Several bishops have taken issue with the attack on Ryan calling accusations like Campbell's "calumny."
Campbell's tale of sob stories got big cheers from convention delegates, but she didn't explain what will happen to those poor people when the country collapses in economic insolvency. She didn't mention the astronomical increase in the national debt which obligates every household and future generations, endangering the American dream for our grandkids. Obama's "spending spree" enslaves future generations because the money to pay for today's handouts is borrowed and taxpayers are responsible for paying it back tomorrow. Consider that the costs of Obamacare aren't even included yet. Just wait until those new taxes and obligations are implemented!
A friend of mine who's a full time RVer says he's seen the impact of our economic downturn all over the country in closed storefronts, disappearing malls, and ghost towns. Every consumer is experiencing the cost increase in food and gas prices. Increasing tax rates on goods and services impacts everybody. And when businesses are taxed they pass those increased expenses on to their customers. Spiking gas prices hurt the non urban poor more than anybody. And how is robbing Medicare going to help the elderly just when more and more boomers are reaching the magic age? Less money means rationing; that's simply an economic reality.
There are many self-sacrificing sisters serving the poor. Simone Campbell is not one of them. Keep that in mind as you listen to her. She is a lobbyist. What do lobbyists do? Whatever is necessary to get their hands into the taxpayers' pockets. That pocket, however, is getting pretty thin.

And then she whines - again - about mean ole Rush Limbaugh and how Romney didn't rise to her defense against "hateful slurs." (Hey, Sandra, you're a feminist. Feminism killed chivalry and denigrated men's respect for women and now you want knights in white armor? Please!)
But let's set the record straight. Fluke can make all the "hateful slurs" she likes against anyone who disagrees with her, but if (horrors!) someone criticizes her promiscuous lifestyle (which she wants funded by the taxpayer) she expects people to rise and defend her honor. Sorry, Sandra, you have none. In fact, there's no evidence you have any self-respect. Announcing to the world that you fornicate and then demanding others to pay for your right to do it without consequences is cheap and exploitive. Why should some grandmother living in a trailer or my children who are raising families be taxed so you can get free birth control pills while you travel the world with your rich boyfriend? Why isn't he paying for it anyway? You're his sex object after all; shouldn't he pay for his toys?
Grow up, Sandra. At your age being a whining crybaby is pathetic.
