Michelle's Fairy Tale of Fabrication

FACT CHECK: FIRST LADY'S FALSE FAIRY TALE OF STRUGGLE

Barack and Michelle have lived lives of privilege and affluence. But it sure makes nice virtual reality viewing. And what a touch -- getting his coffee table from a dumpster. LOL! Great performance, Michelle!

  1. I am no fan of the Obamas but I will say this--the money they have (and they have lots more than me though not nearly as much as the Romneys) they earned--it wasn't handed to them they couldn;t borrow money from their parents to start a business I believe in an America where people can make something of themselves and the Obamas did Criticize him for his stance on abortion or gays but not for making something of himself

  2. Can't say I agree about them making money for themselves and not having it given to them. What about the Tony Rezko real estate deal? http://youtu.be/PGnTWMPSyXg

And what about Michelle's phony hospital job where she was paid over $300,000 in salary and benefits, worked part time, and helped implement policies that dumped the poor. http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/08/romney_really_needs_to_fight_back.html

The Obamas have led privileged lives. They both attended expensive private schools before they attended the Ivies. Barack, in fact, attended the most prestigious private school in Hawaii.

They have been given plenty and the poor mouthing at the convention was both untrue and nauseating.

  3. I'm not sure how you think being the daughter of a utility worker on the south side of Chicago makes for a life of wealth and privilege. Mrs. Obama worked hard to be a good student at her PUBLIC high school (a magnet school in Chicago) to earn scholarships to a good university. Mr. Obama attended a private high school on a scholarship. The Obamas are truly the epitome of the American Dream - work hard, get a good education, get good jobs, and be successful.

  4. I stand corrected on Michelle's high school which was, indeed, a magnet public school and I'm aware of her middle class upbringing. There are, however, other ways of being privileged and Michelle had many opportunities not available to most middle class kids. She and Barack both benefited from affirmative action. Neither had good writing skills even after graduating from Harvard. Journalist Christopher Hitchens, who could be merciless, described Michelle's Princeton thesis saying, "To describe [the thesis] as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be 'read' at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn't written in any known language."

If you are interested in trying to read it yourself go to http://obamaprincetonthesis.wordpress.com/ I slogged through the first five pages before I quit.

As for Barack's, upbringing he was raised by his maternal grandmother who was a bank vice president. Aren't bank executives among the greedy rich Obama is always vilifying? He received $500,000 in stock when she died in 2008. What her total estate was worth I don't know.

At any rate, the picture of the "poor, struggling" couple Michelle presented at the convention was pure fiction. You can check out their tax returns from 2000 to 2011 at http://www.barackobama.com/tax-returns/. I don't know how many young couples are making that kind of money eight years after marriage. We sure weren't even adjusting for inflation.

So, yes, I believe it's accurate to say the Obamas were and certainly are at present privileged. Sadly for the country, instead of being grateful for their opportunities, they appear to hate America. Michelle sees America as racist and sexist (which is clearly evident in her thesis) and Barack sees it as a colonial dynasty that needs to be punished.

    God help us.
