Before the election of 2020, I was a big Ted Cruz supporter. I saw Trump as a faux conservative. I voted for Ross Perot in 1992. I sensed a RINO (GB I) before they invented the term. I was going to sit out 2016, because, after Romni in 2012 I was just fed up with RINOs and fake conservatives.
ReplyDeleteDebates in this web site and on RestoreDC's ... in addition to a very important turning point in a conversation I had with a liberal friend in which I of a sudden saw the light about "Fake News" ... convinced me to reluctantly support Trump for President. I switched and voted for him literally two weeks prior to the election.
I had NO.IDEA ... none ... how big this election was going to be OR the threat facing the Republican from communism (not Democrat's, not liberals, not leftists .... communists) within our government and spread throughout our American society. Oh, yes ... I am a big Trump supporter now.
What lay beneath the surface of our body politic is similar to what lay beneath the surface of the living members of Holy Mother Church. Pope Benedict XVI (still reigning) faced a leviathan, we face it now, similar to the leviathan below the surface of the D.C. swamp. They both now lie exposed. We see the enemy clearly and can now honestly choose sides, for or against leviathan.
Before - we just had a vague sense things were not right as events never went the way they *ought*; a slow but persistent crumbling of the edifice of good.
Now - we know. The enemy is exposed. The threat is exposed. Our challenge lies before us. Yes - Trump stands between us and them. Ultimately, however, it is not up to him but us. WE are going to have to engage in this fight for good at the granular, individual, grass roots level. If we wish to return to what is good and right, we have to do this ourselves. We need to get dirty and get to work against this gewAt evil, secular and religious.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
