According to a report in LifeSiteNews:
“Nothing in Sister’s talk opposed Church teaching,” says Bishop Peter Jugis' spokesman. “Sister would be welcomed to speak in the diocese in the future.”LifeSite also reported a comment by a doctor who heard the same talk recently on Long Island:
But one Catholic scientist says he recently heard the sister give the exact same speech she delivered to the students, and in his opinion, there is nothing in it to which a practicing Catholic could possibly object.
“I was in attendance at the same presentation when given on Long Island, NY a few months ago,” Dr. Gerard Nadal told LifeSiteNews. “In that meeting, Sister Jane gave medical and scientific data that came from reputable sources and were presented as examples of the consequences for human behavior that contravenes the moral magisterium of the Church. As a Ph.D. in medical science, and as a Catholic schooled extensively in my faith, I saw no contradictions, but rather a seamless presentation.”Let's face it folks, it's not about the presentation; it's not about facts. It's about FEELINGS. We can't say anything that might disagree with the poltically correct brainwashing that has replaced the truth with ear tickling. Many Catholic parents are contracepting, cafeteria Catholics who pick and choose doctrines from the steam table. Homosexuality disordered? "Nope, not that one." Abortion wrong? "Well maybe some of the time." Contraception always immoral? "Sheesh, the Church expects me to have a dozen kids? They can't tell me what to do with my body!"
It's very telling that the meeting was described as "acrimonious." Cross a liberal and see exactly how tolerant they are. I know. I've sidewalked counseled for years and have picketed pro-abortion Catholics and I can tell you exactly how kind, loving, tolerant they are. Don't hold your breath waiting to engage in Socratic argument. Name-calling and obscene gestures are more the norm.
The Charlotte situation is showing exactly how bad things are in "education" and how effective the brainwashing has been. Prayer and fasting big time are what's needed now for our poor, misguided Catholic families!
