We live in a nation that has been so blessed by God. Many of us still recall a time when churches were so full that police were needed to direct traffic after mass. And, many of those police officers were Catholic, like us. Beginning with Madalyn Murray O'Hair's 1960 lawsuit to ban Bible reading in the MD public school system, followed by a SCOTUS 8-1 ruling in favor of removing prayer from public schools, our nation has been under attack from those who seek to remove God from every aspect of American life. Removing God creates a void and that is now being filled with this insidious and monstrous statue. Notice how the creators place young children around it. Most young children would cower from such an image but teens, testing the waters of independence, may easily be attracted, especially for the "fun" of taking a "selfie". To whom much has been given, much is expected. One is reminded of the Jews who erected a golden calf while Moses stood in the presence of God. A weak society draws down its own punishment. There are many countries around the globe where worship of "gods" is still practiced. However, I cannot think of any nation that has erected a statue to the Evil One, can you? In erecting this monstrosity, juxtaposed aside a monument of the Ten Commandments, the US becomes the first. St. Michael the Archangel, help us! Pray for the conversion of these souls.
