"Gone for the Day!" A Primer on Staying Close to Your Beloved Esposa!

Reading the Epoch Times is always an adventure. I come across many excellent articles and often clip them to send to family members. This morning the article that caught my eye was advice to parents of children not to let their family responsibilities prevent working on their couple relationship. I sent it to a granddaughter who is expecting her second little one. They are in the busy-busy days of married life.

She and her husband are blessed to live near both of their families and there are abundant baby sitters who would love cuddling the little ones. I never had that. Both sets of parents were too far away to be very helpful. We were pretty much on our own and since I was raised in a frequently moving Navy family I had no local support group. We gradually developed one through Christian Family Movement and church, but that's not the same as family.

I spent years focused on pro-life volunteering. For about twenty years I sidewalk counseled almost every week at an Alexandria abortion business located right next to Bishop Ireton High School within a stone's throw of the Eucharist. The other place I counseled for years was in Falls Church within a stone's throw of the Eucharist at St. James. Sad to say both of these Catholic locales adopted the strategy of the three monkeys. Don't look at the abortion facility, don't listen to the silent screams of the babies murdered, and say nothing. Just keep out of it following a strategy of appeasement.

Larry and I don't fly for the most part. Last time in the air we traveled to Texas for a granddaughter's wedding. We have a pope with an engaging personality who is apparently morally bankrupt and cares very little for either the flock or the faith. We have a president with an obnoxious personality who obviously cares about Americans and talks about Christ more than many preachers do. Ah, but he is no gentleman. I agree, but I'll take a vulgar man who acts more like a shepherd against the wolves than a highly polished smooth talker who covers his wolfness with a sheepskin. Read Dymphna's posts and be sure to click on the link to see Chris Jackson's expose on the "Prophet of Perversion" recently praised by the pope. I wrote previously about two amendments to the Virginia constitution that are a serious danger to the family and especially to girls. And if people fail you or condemn you or treat you with disrespect or shun you, or persecute you, those are the gilded invitations, the special ones that take you directly to the feet of the King where you can say, "My Lord, I trust in You. In Your wisdom and love, take care of everything!"

Abigail Spanberger should have worn her tap dancing shoes to the debate. She danced around questions refusing to answer yes or no. When asked and pressed whether she would change Youngkin's policy banning transgender men from girls' locker rooms, she refused to answer the question. Instead of directing her answer to the policy in place, she talked about allowing local communities decide. In other words, to do that she would have to eliminate the policy, but she wouldn't say that. And let's get real. The Democrats support transgender men competing against women in sports and exposing themselves in girls locker rooms and giving transgender teens the opportunity to rape girls in school locker rooms. That's their policy!

With respect to the Jay Jones controversy, Spanberger refused to say she would withdraw her endorsement of Jay Jones for Attorney General. When pressed she once again danced around saying the voters could decide for themselves. Her answers reminded me of one of comedian Emo Phillips lines: "Ambiguity, the devil's volleyball."

The polls at present show Spanberger ahead, but the only poll that matters is taken on election day. Vote Republican. If you need to know how important that is read my previous post.

Many Virginians are probably unaware of an abortion amendment that is making its way through the Virginia legislature. It allows all abortions up to birth. Do you remember when Virginia's former governor, Ralph Northam, went even beyond killing babies in the womb up to delivery? He publicly stated that after birth parents and the doctor could decide whether to kill a baby (presumably by neglect) after birth. There is no limit to the Democrats' willingness to murder people at any stage of life, from the little one in the womb to the sick and elderly near the end of life. One of my favorite spiritual masters is St. Alphonsus Liguori. What a body of wisdom he left us. Today I want to share his thoughts about our "Noisy World" from Love God and Do What You Please.

To such as these [those attached to worldly things] the Lord does not even speak; He sees it would be a waste of time. That is what He said one day to St. Teresa: "There are many to whom I long to speak, but the world makes such a noise in their ears that they cannot hear Me. If they would only detach themselves a little from the world!"

Even after over a decade of attending silent Ignatian retreats, I still have a long list of things to which I know I'm overly attached. Detachment is a lifetime struggle, but if we don't detach ourselves from creatures we can never fully belong to the God Who loves us so much and longs for our whole-hearted love in return. One of the greatest helps in the struggle is your guardian angel.

The Proverbial Excrement Hits the Fan and the Seamless Papal Garment!

Of course that's the Democrats' mantra. They aren't really pro-abortion; they are "pro-choice." Well, sometimes...They aren't pro-choice for those Americans living on the border facing first hand the violence of illegal invaders. The drug cartels kill a rancher? Hey, they weren't welcoming the stranger so they deserved it.

I got this MSNBC video of the GOP press conference today onYouTube. The Democrats own the shutdown. May it come back to bite them! Note the comments, obviously primarily from liberal Democrats. Many mention Trump and the Epstein files. Now we don't really know what's in those files about Trump, but we know a lot about the connection of Bill Clinton and Epstein.

We've been here before. The government shuts down amid threats of Armageddon, the national parks close, paychecks are delayed, and then the agreement is reached and everyone gets back to work with back pay. For those federal employees living pay check to pay check the Democrats are inflicting a serious problem with their hissy-fit over funding health care for millions of illegals. Hey, taxpayers, you owe it to the invaders. And besides we need their votes and if we don't deliver the goodies, they'll stop coming. And besides, our base will call for our ouster if we don't obey them and they hate ICE and love illegals even the ones who bring in fentanyl and commit violent crimes against our citizens.
