A Sobering Meme from Facebook. Preparing for a Good Death is the Most Important Goal!

Are you sure?

I received this on my Facebook wall today and thought it was important enough to share. Many people have the erroneous view of God as the Candy Man or the Pillsbury Doughboy dishing out Snickers bars and Cinnabons on Judgement Day. Sorry folks, not true.
God is a loving Father. He is also a gentleman. He gave us free will to choose the good, but He does not force us to do so. If we choose the culture of death and fail to repent, we will spend eternity with its master, Satan. He will not give you a pass because you were "tolerant" or tried to understand and  "walk together" with evil doers. Yes, he wants us to witness in love to those enslaved in sin. But every one of us will have to give an account of our actions. If we committed grievous evils or enabled them by our "tolerance" and "understanding," we are likely to "walk together" into hell with evil-doers.

The text that came along with the picture was this:

“𝗛𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄.“ That statement does not apply to everybody who died.
Tell people the TRUTH if you love them. Everybody does not go to heaven. Everybody is not resting in peace. A lot of folks are in hell because they did not repent and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior when they were alive. The Bible says there is no Peace for the wicked. (Isaiah 48:22)
Yes Hell is Real and people go there everyday.
We can REST IN PEACE when we die, if we:
REPENT and turn back to GOD.
ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST as our personal LORD and SAVIOR. BELIEVE on His DEATH on the cross and on HIS RESURRECTION.
Be ye saved while we are still alive.
Now is the time for salvation.

St. Robert Bellarmine, Doctor of the Church, was so concerned about blowing the warning trumpet that he wrote a treatise called The Art of Dying Well. He urged his priests to preach on death at least once a month. Our death day is the important day after our Baptism Day because the state of our soul determines our eternal destination.

Don't lose heaven for the world. It's too great a price to pay.

St. Joseph, patron of a happy death, pray for us.

So you pass on protestant misinformation and you think you are leading people to heaven/ preparing them for a good death? Seems to me you are only digging your own pit deeper. I wonder if you responded to this poster w/your treatise (or any Catholic teaching). Also, you say don't lose heaven for the world and yet where do you live? Have you looked around at where most of the rest of the people live? You have read the parable of Dives which applies both materially and spiritually. You have heard "easier for a camel to go through the needle's eye" yet are you influenced more by the judeo-protestant society in which you live than by Christ/Catholicism? It is easy to see other people's sins/"evil/wickedness"; not so much our own.

I don’t see this post as a judgement at all, but rather a warning. “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2,Matthew 4:17,Mark 1:15).

This post is meant to counterbalance the sweet empty words of the devil that our salvation is assured; once saved always saved; there’s no sin you can commit that will separate you from the love of God; God is not a God of judgement; God is love, not wrath; there is no hell; if there is a hell it will be empty.

Satan and his demons never rest in their task to convince souls that their time is their own and that their future in heaven is assured. That is a fatal mistake - the worst kind of fatal, which is eternal.

St John the Baptist said - proclaiming the Advent of the Messiah Jesus Christ said (Matt 3:7-10):

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Fruits worthy of repentance; or eternal fire: this is the binary choice of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  4. Wow! Talk about rash judgment!

The Church has always respected the truth even among pagan philosophers. Ever hear of Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas?

  5. Wow. Golly gee. What a mean picture. In my former Novus Ordo parish no one who died went to Purgatory and certainly no one went to Hell. They all went straight to Heaven for their reward since they were such good people while here on earth. At funerals the white banner was always set up saying "Welcome to Heaven" so we know that's where they went.
