"Neocons are the Dylan Mulvaneys of American politics"

The pimps of war past and present. 

Lew Rockwell has a great article outlining The Real U.S. Goal in Ukraine written by Karen Kwiatkowski, a retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel and political activist. I know Karen casually. She lives in my neck of the woods and, for a time, I was active in the same Republican women's group with her. She's a firebrand, smart and dedicated. 

I agree with Karen's assessment of the war in Ukraine. It's a disaster and our neocon warmongers will have to answer for the death and destruction they've enthusiastically unleashed on the Ukraine and Russia. It isn't their children dying on the battlefield and falling under the bombs.

Here's what Karen writes:

Neocon war is unpopular, ugly, venal. Worst of all, it is unsuccessful – meaning instead of ending in triumph and celebration, it persists as a confusing, contradictory and costly problem multiplier. We’ve seen this before. Neocons are the Dylan Mulvaneys of American politics, albeit with less sincerity and self-awareness. When it’s your influence that has destroyed the effectiveness of and any residual honor in US foreign policy for the past 70 years, as well as bankrupting the nation – the writing is on the wall.

Or it should be. We’d probably be better off having our country led by a beer company. Even Anheuser-Busch’s crippled instincts would not have led to the present situation in eastern Europe.

Biden is planning to send cluster bombs to Ukraine, and yes, they are indiscriminate, horrific, outlawed in 120 countries, and immoral – but – wait for it – the decision to use them is entirely Ukraine’s. Biden and Blinken and Nuland and Sullivan, and half the Senate and half the Congress – well, they don’t have a thing to do with “Ukraine’s decisions.”

Unless Kiev or a European ally, or NATO member wants to see about ending hostilities, making peace, making Ukraine a safe place for Ukrainians to live – well that’s strictly verboten, forbidden by Washington, cannot happen, is not allowed.

Cui bono? A lot of people make a lot of money off of war. Somebody needs to see where all those billions we've sent to Ukraine actually ended up. Who took bribes under the table? Who has offshore accounts and has sold weapons on the black market? Somebody knows the truth. Let's pray for exposure.

When the war finally ends, who will be left in Ukraine? Karen links to an article describing the demographic collapse in the country as people flee, many of whom will never return. Will Zelensky stay? At some point the man who has attacked churches, cancelled elections, and jailed opponents will reap what he sowed. He isn't likely to win any popularity contests except among neocons like Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and all the Leftist thugs. It always happens. Remember of the architects of the French Revolution. Most of them lost their heads in the end to Lady Guillotine in a display of ironic justice. God is not mocked. We may not see justice rain down in our time, but there is no wrong that will go un-righted in the end. That's guaranteed. 

Let's help justice and peace rain down by praying the rosary every day. 

Lord, we beg for peace for all the people impacted by this vicious and immoral war. Please remove all the warmongers from power and give us men and women of peace to rule over us. We ask all this through the intercession of Our Lady Queen of Peace to the Prince of Peace, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
