Have You Talked to your Guardian Angel Today? Say Thank You!

Have you thanked your
guardian angel today?
A friend of mine is burying her mom today and facing family challenges. After reading her email, I immediately paused to say a prayer for her, her mom, and her family. Then I asked my guardian angel to go pray with her guardian angel that the funeral is peaceful with no drama. There will be enough drama today with the election, but a funeral puts even that in perspective.

We are not made for this world, which is why we are never satisfied with anything here. As St. Augustine says, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee." I love St. Augustine's words so much that I turned them into a little poem/prayer.

O Lord, You made our hearts for Thee

And ever restless will they be

Until they rest in Thee.

Are you facing a difficulty today besides concern over the state of he country and fear for the future? Set that all aside. We have a promise to comfort us in all circumstances. "All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and serve according to His purpose." Trust in that promise. Our hope is not in men.

I remember when the young George Bush was elected president for the first time, my aunt, a confirmed liberal, was devastated. I laughed and said, "I almost always vote for the loser, but I'm never upset, because I do not place my trust in men." My aunt died a few months ago. She was in her 90s, my dad's youngest sister. If she were alive she would be voting for Biden/Harris. Who knows - maybe she still will. Democrats no doubt have polling places set up in cemeteries. I pray for her and my uncle frequently.

Let us not be disturbed today no matter what the outcome. I expect violence no matter who wins. Think of the riots by fans after their teams win!

We live among barbarians and the liberal elite give the barbarians permission to loot, burn, and attack even those with whom they agree. Really! If there is one truism for our times, it's that the devil always eats his own. Remember the French Revolution? After releasing the whirlwind, the architects of terror joined their victims at the guillotine. "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword."

So please don't worry today. Let us all place our trust in God and rest like Mary Magdalene at the feet of our Lord. I often imagine myself at the feet of Mother Mary with my head in her lap. I imagine her soothing word and touch as I pour out my sorrows and challenges. She always, always speaks words of comfort like she did to Juan Diego at Guadalupe. "Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you, disturb you.” Amen!

I'm praying in gratitude today no matter what happens -- pouring out gratitude to God, to Our Lady, and to my guardian angel and patron saints. Our practice is to visit a cemetery every day in November and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. This afternoon I will pray it at my brother's grave, not only for him, my two other deceased brothers, and the poor souls in Purgatory, but for our poor country and the barbarian invasion that threatens us.

May God bring about the conversion of those poor, violent souls serving in Satan's army who will gnash their teeth today and use their bodies to advance Satan's kingdom. They pour out verbal venom as well as physical. Like the Carmelite nuns on the scaffold who offered their lives for France, let us offer our sorrows and sufferings for the conversion of our country! In all things may we say, "Thanks be to God!" Amen
