Fr. Ripperger Urges Us to Pray Daily for President Trump and our Civic Leaders

Let's get serious about praying for our country and her leaders. Can any Christian fail to recognize that we are in serious trouble? Ten states put abortion on the ballot in 2024 and seven voted for child killing. Only in Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota did the majority of the electorate refused to embrace the human sacrifice of abortion.

Now Who Exactly Are the Enemies of Democracy?

EXCLUSIVE: FEMA Official Ordered Relief Workers To Skip Houses With Trump Signs

"A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.

Dig the Grave for the Government Unions

There is an inherent conflict of interest in government unions. Unions contribute to campaigns, then sit at the bargaining table with the officials they helped elect. It's a prescription for corruption and the rape of the taxpayers. Something's gotta give.

More Discrimination Against Christians

So, you think you have religious freedom? Think again if the government decides your right to exercise your religion conflicts with its diversity policies. Homosexual rights trump everything these days and that's the way the activists want it. Evil is NEVER content with the right to exercise its evil freely. It must ALWAYS force those who call it evil to endorse it. So Christians, gird your loins for the growing persecution. Like Jesus said, "For if in the green wood they do these things, what shall be done in the dry?" The wood is as dry as dust and ready for the conflagration. But the only fire that has the power to destroy us both body and soul is the fire of the Holy Spirit. So hold fast to the truth.

Woo-Hoo! It's a Crushing Sweep in Virginia! Thanks be to God!

Congratulations to the pro-life trio in Virginia in a clean sweep of the executive offices. While they mostly ran on economic issues, none of the candidates hid their pro-life views. Ken Cuccinelli, especially, is known for his firm pro-life, pro-family convictions.

Ken's big win proves that pro-lifers don't need to run from and hide their beliefs. When the issues are framed properly, the life issues will not damage candidates and can actually help them. How many women out there who've had abortions recognize the truth when a candidate says, "We can do better for women than abortion."

I have to say I'm really happy tonight. I've spent a lot of election nights knowing beforehand that my candidates would lose. Tonight they are all in the big win column including my favorite Virginia delegate, Bob Marshall who with 76% of polls reporting is winning 62% to 38%.

Take a good look at the Virginia state seal. This is Virginia's statement against tyrants in every age of history whether King George III of England or Barack Obama of Hawaii (or Kenya).

Thank you, God, for giving Virginia such strong leaders. The Commonwealth may have been named for the "virgin" queen of England (a misnomer for sure), but I prefer to think that, in God's providence, she was named after the Blessed Virgin, the Queen of heaven and earth. May this birthplace of liberty, the home of George Washington, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, James Madison, and scores of other patriots become the new birthplace of pro-life freedom. Please pray for Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling, Ken Cuccinelli, Bob Marshall, and all the other pro-life legislators elected tonight in Virginia.

God bless them all.

One More Administration Crook Thrown Under the Bus

Whew...Van Jones is out. The self-avowed commie who calls Republicans a**h***s, who looted during the Rodney King riots while hailing "the great revolutionary moment," who described looting, burning, and attacks on police as "necessary riots" has been thrown under the bus - one more expendable liability.

The episode magnifies once more the administrations complete disdain for the law as they fill administration posts with tax cheats, felons, America haters, extremists who want sterilizing agents in the drinking water, etc. As each of these radicals is exposed, Obama responds with the mafia treatment - under the bus or off the bridge with feet in a bucket of cement.

He campaigned as a moderate, but every day more evidence surfaces confirming Obama's Alinskyite roots: the end justifies the means - winning is everything no matter what or who has to be jettisoned in its pursuit. If Obama's pals get in the way, they're history. He is Saul Alinsky and Machiavelli rolled into one.

Don't expect Obama to fade and quietly disappear in 2012. (It's unclear that the "stupid party" has any challenger at present) and remember that Alinsky's Rules for Radicals call for creating chaos to make people willing to accept revolutionary change. Obama has the chaos part down pretty well what with doubling the debt in his first eight months, taking over the banks and the auto industry, and who knows what else is on his blackberry. (It's Monday, require students to write a letter about the greatness of big "O.")

Read the Constitution, the bill of rights, and other documents of the Founding Fathers. The greatest obstacle to the creation of the Obama-nation is constitutional government, something most politicians on both sides of the aisle abandoned years ago. For a quick review watch this:

Targeting American Children for Radicalism

What's all the hoopla about the president talking to the nation's children? Wouldn't it be useful to have a president exhort kids to stay in school, avoid drugs, alcohol, and sex, treat classmates with respect, and be patriotic Americans who love God, family, and country? Not a thing, of course, but we all know that's not the president's message. Obama's addressing the kids is one more sttempt to promote the cult of personality. It isn't about urging kids to be patriotic American, it's about "serving" THE ONE. And that's why parents are up in arms.

Michelle Malkin pegged it when she quoted Obama chum William Ayers who said, "education is the motor-force of revolution." And every time Obama gets ahold of the kids the message is geared, not to be a "teaching moment," but a propaganda session. See the Hollywood video below which Malkin says was shown to school children in Farmington, Utah without their parents' knowledge or consent. She concludes her article saying, "This is why informed parents do not trust the Educator-in-Chief and his 'comrades.' You can take Obama from the radicals in Chicago. But you can't take the Chicago radicalism out of Obama."

Watch these Hollywood democratic clones say they'll flush "only after a deuce and never a single," drive hybrid cars, and work with pro-abortion UNICEF because they luuuuv the president. They'll smile more, use less plastic, and plant trees. They pledge "to be of service to Barack Obama" (while kissing their biceps). This is laughable considering these elites consume more in a month than many large families do in a year. Remember when American's pledged allegiance to the flag representing their country. In the Obama-nation patriotism is passe, serving a partisan political agenda is the new fashion. Get out your barf bag before you watch Demi and her buds do the liberal tap dance. It may sound like a spoof, but they're dead serious (as in expanding the culture of death). Parents beware -- this is one more Alinsky-inspired, community organizing manipulation!

Will you get the swine flu shot?

The hysteria level in the media over swine flu is rising and the best defense against panic is common sense, a deep breath, and a little research. Whether you get the shot is up to you. Reality Check on Obama's Radicalism: He's not the Peanut Farmer from Plains

He's Not Jimmy Carter

A "Government Commissioner" may decide your health care!

Another little-noticed provision of the health care behemoth gives Big Brother sweeping new authority under the guise of a "Health Care Commissioner." Read the complete article.
The Health Choices Commissioner would establish “the benefits to be made available under Exchange-participating health benefit plans during each plan year,” according to page 84 of the 1,018-page bill. That means the commissioner would determine what benefits the participating insurance companies must offer participating customers in the exchange

The commissioner would also set rules for insurance companies to participate in the health insurance exchange, and establish criteria for individuals to receive federal subsidies to purchase insurance in the exchange, according to section 142 on page 42 of the legislation.

Further, the commissioner would have the authority to establish “automatic enrollment” of individuals who qualify for the health insurance exchange....

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) believes giving one bureaucrat this much power over the health insurance of Americans is among the least noticed provisions of the legislation.

“The American people want two things from health care reform: lower costs and more choices,” Boehner said in a statement. “Yet Democrats have done exactly the opposite coming up with a bill that actually raises costs--increasing the deficit by $240 billion--and letting a new federal bureaucrat make health care decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors.”

The legislation also gives the commissioner power to determine who can participate and under what conditions.

“The commissioner shall have the authority to establish such rules as may be necessary to deal with special situations with regard to uninsured individuals and employers participating as Exchange-eligible individuals and employers,” the bill says on page 82, “such as transitions periods for individuals and employers who gain or lose, Exchange-eligible participation status, and to establish grace periods for premium payment”

Tyranny or Freedom: Godless Socialism or a Constitutional Republic?

Pastor Stephen Broden will no doubt be called an "Uncle Tom" just like Clarence Thomas, J.C. Watts, and other black conservatives who dare to escape the liberal plantation. Pray for more of these articulate men and women of color to step forth and speak the truth with courage. "We must fight....we must win!" Don't you wish our Catholic pastors spoke with this kind of zeal?

Obama's plans have all been tried and failed before -- in California!

You'll never get IOUs from the federal government for your tax return like citizens in California. The feds will just print more money which will be worth less and less. There is absolutely nothing innovative about Obama's and the liberal democrats solutions to our economic crisis. They've all been tried before and failed -- in California.

California's Morality Play in Three Acts

By Jon Huey

I know that everybody likes to poke fun at California – but I can tell you right now that despite all of its problems, California remains one of the best places in the world to build a successful small business.

All you have to do is start with a successful large business.

Laugh if you will, but let me remind you that when these policies finish wrecking California, there are still 49 other states we can all move to – and yours is one of them.

I should also warn you of the strange sense of déjà-vu that I have every day on the House floor as I watch the same folly and blunders that wrecked California now being passed with reckless abandon in this Congress.

We passed a “Cash-for-Clunkers” bill the other day – we did that years ago in California.

Doubling the entire debt every five years? Been there.

Increasing spending at unsustainable rates? Done that.

Save-the-Planet-Carbon-Dioxide restrictions? Got the T-Shirt.

To understand how these policies can utterly destroy an economy and bankrupt a government, you have to remember the Golden State in its Golden Age.

A generation ago, California spent about half what it does today AFTER adjusting for both inflation and population growth.

And yet, we had the finest highway system in the world and the finest public school system in the country. California offered a FREE university education to every Californian who wanted one. We produced water and electricity so cheaply that many communities didn’t bother to measure the stuff. Our unemployment rate consistently ran well below the national rate and its diversified economy was nearly recession-proof.

One thing – and one thing only – has changed in those years: public policy. The political Left gradually gained dominance over California’s government and has imposed a disastrous agenda of radical and retrograde policies that have destroyed the quality of life that Californians once took for granted. (Continue reading....)

Psst! Want to buy a historic covered bridge -- cheap?

Religious freedom is guaranteed under the first amendment of the Constitution, right? Do you think that matters to those who have a secular liberal agenda? Take a look at the Belmont Abbey College case. The college developed a health plan that removes coverage for abortion, sterilization, and contraception. Eight faculty members filed a complaint with the North Carolina Department of Insurance saying that the school was violating state law and didn't qualify for a religious exemption. Their case was dismissed. Then, with the support of the National Women's Law Center, they went to the local EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) in Charlotte, NC claiming "gender discrimination." The case was dismissed there as well.

Funny thing, though. Two months later the school received another letter reversing the decision. According to college president, Dr. William Theirfelder, "My understanding is it went to Washington, and that it was in Washington where this was decided, not the Charlotte office."

So a Catholic college MUST provide health coverage for immoral procedures condemned by Catholic doctrine.

Watch developments in this story. It throws light on the treatment Catholics can expect for not only Catholic schools, but every Catholic organization in the country that has employees. If you think Obama health care will respect the religious liberty of Catholic health workers and Catholic facilities, I have a nice historical covered bridge outside Woodstock that I'd be glad to sell you. All reasonable offers considered.

Please Help a Pro-Life Champion

I sent this message out this evening to my email list. Please help!

Dear Friends,

I've written before asking your financial and prayer support for solid pro-life, pro-family candidates. And I'm asking again for a man who is a great pro-lifer and a personal friend, Bob Marshall.

It's hard to believe that a Virginia House of Delegates member could become a national target of the homosexual lobby, but Bob is the top target of national and state pro homosexual groups and abortion groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL whom he's fought for years.

For example, the homosexual advocacy group, Equality Virginia PAC, wrote recently:

Defeating Marshall (like our prior defeats of Delegates Dick Black and Brad Marrs) would echo resoundingly in the Republican caucus and among some conservative Democrats … EVPAC is continuing our work to build collaborations with … national groups to provide … effective backing for pro-equality campaigns.

Their purpose is not just to defeat Bob. It is to ensure that other legislators across the United States will not challenge the homosexual agenda and to eliminate lawmakers who take their faith seriously. Last October 31, 2008, Time Magazine ("The Gay Mafia That's Redefining Liberal Politics”) showed how out-of-state homosexual money already defeated two Virginia pro-family state delegates in 2005.

Bob Marshall does not duck difficult questions. Bob flew pro-life activist Julie Mackama (who was conceived as a result of sexual assault) into Virginia for a Richmond legislative hearing. Julie spoke for Bob’s bill which blocked tax-paid “Morning After Pills” at state colleges. (Bob’s bill passed the House of Delegates, but failed in a Senate Committee.)

Former Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) lost in 2008, because she ran out of money and could not answer fabricated claims brought against her by the same homosexual and abortion groups now trying to beat Bob Marshall. Bob Marshall is running in his 10th general election, and he needs our help!

Bob is holding a fund-raising event at Rappahannock Cellars on August 30 from 5:30 to 7:30. If you live in the Northern Virginia area come on out. I'll be there to support Bob and I'd love to meet you.

You and I can ensure that the state legislator and All Saints parishioner who authored Virginia’s Constitutional Marriage Amendment in 2006, and Virginia’s ban on Partial Birth infanticide abortions does not lose his office this November for lack of support from those of us who have the gift of Faith.

Go to Bob's web site to see his broad appeal. I ask you to join me in supporting Bob Marshall’s reelection with a check, the largest you can make. Virginia has no limit on campaign donations and corporate money is allowed. You can donate on-line at the website or mail your check to Friends of Bob Marshall P.O. Box 421 Manassas, VA 20108.

I know these are hard economic times, but if we love the unborn and value family we really need to come through for people like Bob who are more than politicians. Bob is a warrior for the Lord. He needs our prayers and our pocketbooks.

May the Lord reward you for whatever you can do to help Bob be re-elected to the Virginia House of Delegates this November.

With a grateful heart,

Mary Ann Kreitzer

Wrong Strategy at the Town Halls -- In Other Words, They Want You to Get Angry!

The Town Hall Meetings show a population angry about what the government is trying to ram down taxpayers' throats. But the strategy of angry shouting is a loser. I always advise people: "When you get mad, smile and lower your voice."

The Alinskyites love people to get angry. It's part of the "freeze" 'em strategy. ("They're an angry lynch mob who need to be controlled by reasonable government bureaucrats like us.") Wes Pruden talked about that in his editorial, Recycling the Contempt, a few days ago. "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

The conservative American taxpayer is the target and liberals have us in their sights. Getting angry and allowing the situation to escalate to violence serves their purposes. Alinskyites use the Delphi technique to manipulate a perceived "consensus" for their agenda when none really exists. Read about the Delphi Technique in this article by Lynn Stuter. I'll give a brief overview of the contents with a few suggestions of my own mixed in. (Thanks to Catherine of Siena at Threshing Grain for the reminder.)

1) There's a preset outcome; the "dialogue" is just for show. The meeting is geared to give participants a sense of ownership of the result and the feeling that they were heard, but the organizers manipulate it from start to finish to get what they want. It is essential to the method that the facilitator be liked. (This obviously isn't working with the town hall meetings since many people distrust and dislike their members of Congress. However, Barack Obama, the figurehead, is still relatively popular; people want to like him.)

2) The meeting facilitator is trained to identify factions in the group and use a divide and conquer strategy. Tension and conflict are desired and used to introduce the "reasonable" compromise. The Delphi managers target members in the group who disagree, make them angry or appear ridiculous, etc. Once the group is polarized the Delphi managers become the consensus builders recommending their ideas as the compromise position.

3) Often the group is divided for discussion with Delphi members "reporting" what each group says, but conveniently leaving out or diluting opinions that differ with their goal.
"This technique is a very unethical method of achieving consensus on a controversial topic in group settings. It requires welltrained professionals who deliberately escalate tension among group members, pitting one faction against the other, so as to make one viewpoint appear ridiculous so the other becomes 'sensible' whether such is warranted or not."

So how do you fight the Delphi Technique? You can disrupt it in a number of ways.

1) Never get mad! Smile, be charming. Don't play into their tactic of increasing tension. Bring a group who recognizes the Delphi and disperse them through the room. Meet ahead of time to plan your strategy. For example, develop questions you want answered with the goal of forcing the facilitator to respond.

2) Stay focused. Have your questions written down and be persistent in sweetly asking for an answer. Often they will rephrase or distort questions to make them negative or hostile. Correct them sweetly. Often they will try to avoid answering the question altogether by going off on a long tangent. Listen politely. When they finish say, "You didn't answer my question" and repeat it. Allies can also say, "You didn't answer her question." Be polite and persistent.

3) If you have an organized group, never congregate in the room. Delphi managers are trained to spot organized dissent and will "freeze" you out. Rather, go to them and listen to what they are saying as they "work" the room and attempt to disrupt their activities by polite questioning. Talk to other participants making observations about how the facilitator is "unresponsive" and won't address concerns. Ask whether people feel manipulated in the process. Don't accuse; put it in the form of a question.

Lynn Stuter closes her article with this question:
So why have the meetings at all if the outcome is already established? Because it is imperative to the continued wellbeing of the agenda that the people be facilitated into ownership of the preset outcome. If people believe the idea is theirs, they support it: If the people believe the idea is being foisted on them, they will resist. Likewise, it is imperative to the continued wellbeing of the agenda that the people perceive that their input counts. This scenario is being used very effectively to move meetings to a preset conclusion, effectively changing our form of government from a representative form of government in which individuals are elected to represent the people. to a 'participatory democracy' in which citizens, selected at large, are facilitated into ownership of preset outcomes, perceiving that their input resulted therein, when the reality is that the outcome was already established by people not apparent to the citizen participants.

The Delphi Technique is being used, not only at town hall meetings, but in the larger "meeting" in the press. Pelosi, Reid, the liberal talking heads, etc. are all "freezing" and "polarizing" the opposition. Note that the concerns of Americans are dismissed as misrepresentations of the plan. The very real concerns are treated as ridiculous and "fishy" and questions are never answered.

Consider just two examples - abortion and protecting the conscience rights of medical personnel. The organizers will NOT ensure that taxpayers won't be forced to fund abortion. In fact, Planned Parenthood and NARAL demand it since it's in many private insurance plans now. There is no doubt that abortion will be mandated by government insurance. By the same token, health care professionals will be forced to participate in killing children. Obama has made it clear that abortion is a centerpiece of his administration. He will not be deterred.

The American people need to fight and fight smart. "Be as wise as serpents, and as gentle as doves," says the Lord. It's a winning strategy even if we end up on the cross.

Cash for Clunkers Hurts the Poor!

Do you hear the Twilight Zone music playing? Here are a few problems with "cash for clunkers":

1) The government requires destruction of the clunkers, the very cars the poor can afford. I actually heard an interview on public radio with an auto dealer describing how they fill the oil tank with a mixture, then turn on the engine until it dies. One more car body for the landfill. And one less used car for someone who can't afford to buy new.

2) Do the poor benefit? No, but the auto workers' union sure does. This is a liberal payback.

3) Who's buying the cars? Folks who can afford them -- those who are relatively affluent. They get a deep discount on a new car courtesy of the taxpayers (including the poor). This is welfare for the wealthy!

4) Some auto buyers say the cost of a new car is higher. Auto dealers are jacking up the prices of new, fuel efficient models.

"Cash for Clunkers" is pretty on the outside but when you lift the hood there's no engine to run it.

Do You Know What's in the Health Care Plan?

Liberty Counsel has a rundown of the Obama health care plan with identification of issues by section and page number in the bill. There are lots of people saying critics are lying about what's in the bill. Even when we quote chapter and verse, the Obama administration scream "right wing conspiracy." Read it for yourself. It's as bad or worse than what you've heard.

Here's the bill (all 1000+ pages).

Here's Liberty Counsel's rundown on some of the serious issues that should concern taxpayers.

Now I'll itemize a few that concern me (N.B. The numbers in the text are the lines on the page):

1) Rationing. The bill establishes a committee to determine what benefits will be allowed. "There is established a private-public advisory committee which shall be a
15 panel of medical and other experts to be known as 16 the Health Benefits Advisory Committee to rec17ommend covered benefits and essential, enhanced, 18 and premium plans." (p. 30) In view of the fact that the President says the bill will be funded in part by cuts in Medicare, this should raise red flags. What services will be denied to those considered too old or too handicapped to be worth the cost?

2) Illegal Aliens get free care paid for by citizens. "(2) NONRESIDENT ALIENS.—Subsection (a) [which imposes a 2.5% tax] 2 shall not apply to any individual who is a non3 resident alien." (pg. 170)

3) The government will limit and control hospital capacity, another form of health care rationing. "(C) PROHIBITION ON EXPANSION OF FA22CILITY CAPACITY.—Except as provided in para23graph (2), the number of operating rooms, pro24cedure rooms, or beds of the hospital at any25 time on or after the date of the enactment of •HR 3200 IH 1 this subsection are no greater than the number 2 of operating rooms, procedure rooms, or beds,3 respectively, as of such date." Should the feds really be deciding how many beds are available in every community in America? Some things are best decided at the local level. The Catholic Church calls that "subsidiarity."

4) Mandatory end-of-life counseling. This requirement goes on for ten pages (424-434) and gets very specific about counseling on palliative and hospice care, living wills, etc. Having been involved in both the Hugh Finn and Terri Schiavo cases where brain damaged individuals who were NOT comatose and were NOT terminally ill were deliberately murdered by dehydration and starvation, this section gives me the willies. It is clearly oriented toward urging people to refuse life-sustaining treatment when they are not imminently dying. Included in the document is government control over which health professionals can write an end-of-life order. Consider when these documents talk about chronic diseases that are "incurable" encompassed in that language are diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, kidney disease, Down Syndrome, heart disease, and many other chronic conditions.

5) School based health clinics. Those in the pro-life movement have been fighting these clinics for years. They often provide contraception and referral for abortion without parental knowledge or consent. While the bill claims to follow state laws, what is the guarantee tht will be the case. The past is prologue to the future. School-based clinics usurp parents rights and often encourage fornication. (pg. 992 and following)

These are just a few of the items that concern me. There are dozens of others: the government having direct access to your bank account, home visitation programs for pregnant women and families with young children, government data networks of medical records, etc. ad infinitum. The more I read, the less I like it. Government already controls too much of our lives and this bill expands that intrusion exponentially.

Take a look at some of these things for yourself and you'll understand why folks are going out in droves to Town Hall meetings to protest Obama's health plan.
