Canadians Buy U.S. Health Care
The fact is -- patients can wait years for procedures like joing replacements and even heart bypass operations often require a long wait. How many die before they ever get scheduled for treatment? Hey, we'll get the chance to find out when Obamacare is fully implemented.
Half of my family is Canadian and they LOVE their health care system. My cousin gets an ultrasound at almost every prenatal visit and she gets an appointment for a sick visit for her kids within 24 hours. Here in the US, I usually have to wait 48 hours and then must pay a $50 co-pay on top of the $619/month that we pay for our family health insurance. After we meet our deductible, of course - which is enormous. My uncle had a suspicious spot on his forehead and went to see a primary care doctor who then referred him to a specialist, who saw him the next day. I know people cross the border for some elective procedures and I know that there are waits for some surgeries... but I don't think Canadians en masse are unhappy with their health care system.
ReplyDeletei agree with you all is not bad with our health care in canada. i have lived in the U.S. for 10 years and it is not that great when it comes to hospitals and doctors. I ended up in hospital here for a week and it cost us a bundell of cash it was 6,000.00 a day and i had no operations. and a wrong dignosis as well. the hospitals and dr. are like an assembely line the more they see the more they make keep them comming .
