Military Chaplains can be Court Martialed for Sharing the Faith?

It sounds insane, but with this administration anything is possible. Do you think sharing your faith is treason?

BREAKING: PENTAGON CONFIRMS MAY COURT MARTIAL SOLDIERS WHO SHARE CHRISTIAN FAITH
The Family Research Council has a petition drive to stop this violation of the religious rights of our military men and women. You can sign it here.

And while you're reflecting on this abuse
consider that those promoting it, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation founded by Michael "Mikey" Weinstein, consider Christians "monsters." It's hard to imagine the military listening to Weinstein's ranting fulminations, but apparently they are. Here's a sample:
Queasy with the bright and promising lights of the cultural realities of the present day, those evil, fundamentalist Christian creatures and their spiritual heirs have taken refuge behind flimsy, well-worn, gauze-like euphemistic facades such as "family values" and "religious liberty." These bandits coagulate their stenchful substances in organizations such as the American Family Association (AFA), the ultra-fundamentalist Family Research Council (FRC), and the Chaplains Alliance for Religious Liberty (CARL). The basis of their ruinous unity is the bane of human existence and progress: horrific hatred and blinding bigotry.
Wow! But the real reason this nutcase is after these organizations is their resistance to the homosexual juggarnaut. He calls them "virulently homophobic organizations" because they stand up for traditional marriage and oppose the homosexual recruitment of children in schools. You have to read the entire article to believe it! It was this type of hate-mongering that inspired the terrorist who went into the Family Research Council offices intending mass murder. But of course, homosexuals are lovers not haters.

Right!

  1. Mary Ann,

Thank you so much for keeping this issue in the forefront, and for the prayers/request for prayers for our soldiers. My son is going back to Afghanistan for his 2nd deployment in 2 months (slightly more than a year after his return from his 1st), and this just adds another layer of concern. It's actually my biggest concern as I worry more about the destruction of his soul than his body. I cannot think of a worse time to be a soldier - they deserve so much better than what they are getting from their leaders and especially, their commander-in-chief in my opinion. Being in hostile territory no longer just means a war zone - it comes from within the confines of military itself. As an Army mom, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you are doing. It helps more than you know!
