Pedro Arrupe, S.J., was removed just as Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., must be removed

The Twins - Two Peas in a Pod
Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., left;
Pedro Arrupe, S.J., right
Remember when Pedro Arrupe was removed as Superior General of the Jesuit Order by Pope John Paul II? No? No memory of that?

It's no use consulting the Internet for validation. It has no memory of that event. However both Wikipedia and a few articles from the leftist Jesuit magazine, America, say that Arrupe "resigned". The Jesuits won't admit that John Paul II removed Arrupe. They say that Arrupe resigned due to his failing health. They say that Arrupe was going to recommend American Jesuit Vincent O'Keefe, S.J., as his replacement when instead John Paul II "intervened" and appointed two other Jesuits, Paola Dezza and Giuseppe Pittau, to oversee the Society of Jesus until a new Superior General could be elected.

In fact, the cold hard truth is that on October 5, 1981, Pope John Paul II rightfully removed Pedro Arrupe, S.J.,  forever from the Generalate, which in turn, moved O'Keefe from his post as Vicar General of the Society and from all hope of being elected General by a subsequent Congregation. Then he (JPII) firmly and resolutely appointed Dezza and Pittau as overseers until such time (two years later, September of 1983) a new Superior General could be elected.

The Pope did this because of Arrupe's mass secularization of the Society of Jesus, the deterioration of obedience to the pope and disaffection from the papacy. The rot had spread too far and too deep. Pope John Paul II was angry. He was going to take no more of it. The Jesuits under Arrupe had set their faces resolutely against the pope, and indeed the very concept of the papacy in the Catholic Church - that is, until now with a Jesuit "pope", Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., who is one of their own.

Now the papacy is OK. Now the pope must be obeyed. Now it is we who disagree who must be dismissed - totally dismissed - removed for Francis said that if we do not obey his pagan rites we will all be in schism...like Arrupe was basically in schism from/against John Paul II.

Admitting that Arrupe was removed by John Paul II would put a blight on Arrupe's memory and definitely impact his being raised to the altar of sainthood which is already in the process - by the Jesuits. And approved - by Jorge Bergoglio, S.J. Pedro Arrupe is now Servant of God Pedro Arrupe, S.J. How do you like them apples? If we know the right people at the right time we too will be fast tracked to sainthood. But beware - don't think about becoming a saint by defying Jorge Bergoglio like Pedro Arrupe defied two popes - both Paul VI and John Paul II. We can only be a saint today by taking part in pagan rituals, bowing down to naked fertility goddesses and verbally denying the existence of hell and the divinity of Christ.

Holding pagan rituals in the Vatican Gardens and the denial of the divinity of Christ are more than equal to what Pedro Arrupe did to the Society of Jesus, for which he - Arrupe - was removed. Therefore, for his horrifying disobedience to Our Lord and His Bride, the Church, Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., also must be removed.

What Pedro Arrupe did to the Society of Jesus is step by step what Jorge Borgoglio is doing to the Catholic Church. A MUST READ on this subject is Malachi Martin's book The Jesuits: The Society of Jesus and the Betrayal of the Roman Catholic Church (ebook link!) If Malachi Martin lived now, he could write another book: Bergoglio: The Betrayal of the Roman Catholic Church.

  2. I heard that Francis wants to do another fake canonization, this time of Arrupe.

  3. Inexpensive used copies can be found at www.abebooks.com

I am reading it now and I think it is THE KEY to understanding how we got to where we are today. Martin is a great writer. Anyone can read this and clearly know why this is all happening today.

Thank you, Susan, for bringing it to our attention. The Jesuits was published in 1987. Every word in it is as true today, perhaps we could say, even 30 years MORE accurate than it was when it was written.

  4. This time the entire Jesuit Order should be dissolved once and for all. It was dissolved in 1773 by P. Clement XIV, but, sadly enough, it was restored under the naive and saintly P Pius VII, in 1814, who didn't realize its pernicious influence.

Today the situation is simple and clear. The Jesuits should be dissolved for all eternity, without any possibility of future restoration.

  5. Thank you for this article and mentioning the book by Malachi Martin. I was immediately intrigued by the book's premise and was able to track down an electronic copy through my local library (not available there) then through the Live-brary system and ultimately connected with Amazon and downloaded it for free onto my kindle. Persistence paid off- I'm only into the first chapter and I am just blown away. It's as if Martin were writing for us today. I am a convert to Catholicism and have been by turns infuriated, morose, disgusted and horrified at what is happening today. Maybe this will help me deal with things.

  7. also appropriate for our time is Malachi Martin's Windswept House... the 'fictional' characters are easily identified as living (or once living) prelates

  8. Arrupe had a stroke on August 7, 1981. John Paul II did in fact remove Arrupe and any possibility that his successor, Vincent O'Keefe SJ, would assume the Generalate of the Society. I quote at length:

"On October 5, 1981, John Paul forthrightly and by papal fiat intervened in the highest affairs of the Society by removing from its helm the two men he saw as primarily responsible for what he regarded as the shambles of the Order and replaced them with men of his own choosing -- Paola Dezza and Giuseppe Pittau — when the Pope dropped the flag on the start of fourteen critical months. It was a time when powerful leaders both in and out of the Church held their breath and waited...Almost as abruptly as he had removed Arrupe, therefore, John Paul allowed his personally appointed Superior General, Paolo Dezza, to announce that he would allow a General Congregation of the Society of Jesus to meet in Rome. GC33 would convene in September in order to elect a new Father General in the time-honored manner, and to treat of those matters which are to be reviewed in accord with the will of the Holy See". The tension was broken . The collective sigh of relief was almost audible. The governance of the Society was back in its own hands.

Still, when Piet-Hans Kolvenbach was elected as the twenty-eighth Jesuit General by the delegates of GC33 in September 1983, many observers hoped, and some surmised, that behind his appearance of strength and somewhat Olympian detachment there might be a spirit that could impose a turnaround in events-- that in his quiet and almost sing-song manner of speech, he might pronounce the first words of real intention to cease the Jesuit war against the Papacy.

Any such hope of turnaround surely died with the words of Kolvenbach addressed to the delegates of GC33 , who elected him in a single ballot: we will serve Pope and Church, the new Father General said in a clear affirmation of Arrupism, if to do that is to serve MAN. To serve MAN in his preoccupation with political injustice and material want would remain as well the primary preoccupation of Jesuits.

The mortal remains of hope for a change were buried in a continuing landslide of Jesuit dedication to Liberation Theology and its redefinition of the Church and its teachings; of Jesuit magazines plugging away without pause at the erosion of Papal and Church authority over morality and doctrine; and of ever bolder attacks , in Jesuit writings and sermons, on the person and the Papacy of John Paul II and the basic dogmas of the Church he heads".

Kolvenbach would resign on January 14, 2008, only the second General of the Society to ever do so.

  9. "On what would have been the 111th birthday of Pedro Arrupe, S.J., Nov. 14, 2018, the superior general of the Jesuits, Arturo Sosa, S.J., announced that the process toward the Spanish Jesuit’s possible beatification has begun". -- America Mag. Naturally, the cause of John Hardon SJ Servant of God goes nowhere, of course.
