Biden's First Day in Office? 17 Hits on America beginning with Cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline

Yesterday Joe Biden signed 17 executive orders. Let's just talk about one -- killing the Keystone XL Pipeline. What will this mean to America? Well, let's take a look.

1.) Killing the pipeline kills thousands of well-paying jobs for American workers. According to the National Taxpayers Union:

This project, which has been in the works for over a decade, would have transported hundreds of thousands of barrels of crude oil from Canada down through the midwest for storage. Although the pipeline has strong support from the Canadian government, it was blocked by the Obama administration. It was subsequently approved by the Trump administration in 2018. The House overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan bill in 2014 to approve construction of the pipeline.

According to the Keystone XL website, the pipeline would support about 11,000 U.S. jobs in 2021 – including 8,000 union jobs – and generate $1.6 billion in gross wages. Moreover, the project would have resulted in billions of dollars in investment and strengthened trade relations with our neighbors to the north. Given the strong economic benefits of the pipeline - particularly during the ongoing economic crisis - pressing forward with construction should be a no-brainer.

Think about that for a minute. Joe, who promised to make America "come back better" just made a decision to put thousands of Americans out of work to please the green crowd. Although the pipeline has passed every environmental test and the company was working toward zero net emissions, the fossil fuel fanatics win this round while America loses. TC energy has announced they are suspending the project and will begin making layoffs. AOC may be high-fiving Joe but the families of those workers sure won't be, not to mention average Americans who can look forward to higher prices at the pump. And does anyone think those climate crazies will start riding bikes everywhere instead of driving? How exactly will they plan to heat their homes and take hot showers. Many lefties like Al Gore and the rich elitists in their mansions are super energy consumers. But they wage endless war on energy providers.

2.) But let's move on to the second consideration. Joe's "no-brainer" puts a strain on the relationship with an important ally. Canada's Trudeau is not happy. the New York Post reports:

Biden’s version of moderation is giving the left what it wants, only in piecemeal fashion. He will surely be more polite to Canadian leaders than Trump was, but this is a blow to a Canadian government that thought it could rely on us to act rationally and shows that union workers take a backseat in the Democratic Party to noisy adherents of fashionable causes.

If Biden really wants to restore our alliances, telling our friendly neighbor to the north to “drop dead” is a funny way to do it.

But, you get what you ask for and many socialists in Canada were perfectly happy to see the president who supported the pipeline, Trump, get the boot. Trudeau was the first foreign leader to embrace the Biden presidency. Socialists love each other...until they don't. It will be interesting to see how this liberal friendship progresses.

Tomorrow we'll look at the impact of Biden's executive hits on babies in the womb both at home and abroad. As a pro-life activist, I see that as the most diabolical of this faux Catholic's priorities, one that is truly diabolical!

Wake up, silly liberals. Life in the United States is about to get much more difficult.

  1. Would be interesting to know how many of the 11,000 pipeline workers voted for Biden.
