Court Clears the Way for Gay Marriage Expansion
I always thought we would get gay "marriage" the same way we got abortion -- through court imposition.
We no longer have a constitutional republic where people express their will and have it upheld through their elected representatives. We have an oligarchy of men (and women) in black robes imposing their will on the people, no matter how immoral or insane. And the courts and human rights commissions will force citizens to accept it by draconian judgments - against businesses that dare to refuse to cooporate. Bakers will either have to stop making wedding cakes or make them for same-sex ceremonies, photographers will have to stop photographing weddings or photograph same-sex ceremonies. Caterers - limo rentals - wedding planners - florists - all wedding venues (vineyards, B&Bs, etc.) will be forced to capitulate. Individual citizens will likely face hate crime legislation (like Canada) if they criticize the immorality or even quote Bible passages that condemn sodomy.
And how long before churches (mainly the Catholic church) will be sued for not participating in same-sex "weddings." It's coming and, like Cardinal George warned - he expects his successor to die in jail, and his successor's successor to be martyred.
Frankly, I think he's an optimist. How many of our current bench of bishops won't capitulate to the evil just like the English bishops? Can anyone actually imagine Cardinal Dolan dying (or missing a meal) for upholding a moral principal? I can more easily see him saying "Bravo!" to a gay couple tying the knot.
Hold fast to your rosary and pray for the courage to suffer for the faith! You will likely be among the few and the humbly faithful.
