When Sodom and Gomorrah Go Global!

Let us meditate on the Holy
Face of Jesus & fear nothing!
Let's be honest. We're living in a global Sodom and Gomorrah. The devil's evil plan aims at the moral pollution of the entire world, i.e., immerse the minds and hearts of every human on the planet (especially the innocent) in filth and depravity. Satan's goal since he first convinced Adam and Eve to rebel against God is the destruction of the entire human race. His devils have marched relentlessly through every century cutting down everyone he can, hopefully in a moral state that guarantees their residence in his kingdom of hell. And how Satan revels in the murder of the innocent that secures so many souls for him! The 20th century saw more murders and martyrdoms than all the combined killings of every century up to that time. The 21st finds Satan and his co-workers determined to effect a Global Reset to put the entire planet under his dominion.

Interesting word "dominion," its root is in Medieval Latin, dominionem, meaning property or ownership and dominus, meaning lord and master of the domus, the house. That reminds me of the song from Les Mis, Master of the House where the corrupt and abusive, thieving inn couple openly brag about their evil. So many today walk in their footsteps having turned their domus over to Satan. Prepare for their gloating as they continue to snatch the ownership of our country from the people.

Joshua, one of Israel's most faithful and zealous warriors asked the Israelites whom they would follow. He proclaimed the One who "owned" the loyalty of his family. "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!" His profession of faith confronts Lucifer's profession of rebellion, "I WILL NOT SERVE!" That same choice confronts each of us today. Whom will you serve?

Herod murdered members
of his own family including
one of his wives and several
of his children.
Sodom and Gomorrah have, indeed, gone global in our country. And many "leaders" in the government and private community are building towers of Babel. Scores of Nimrods erect their empires in confidence that they can challenge God Himself. That never ends well for them. Herod "the Great," one of the cruelest men in human history, tried to destroy the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He failed and died a miserable death described in ancient literature and investigated by modern medical experts:
“Herod the Great expired from chronic kidney disease probably complicated by Fournier’s gangrene,” according to the medical investigative work of Jan Hirschmann, M.D., staff physician at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and professor of medicine at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. The texts that we depend on for a close description of Herod’s last days list several major features of the disease that caused his death—among them, intense itching, painful intestinal problems, breathlessness, convulsions in every limb, and gangrene of the genitalia."

As we face the difficult days ahead and the challenging year of 2021, some of us will experience painful and challenging suffering and death. Loving God never means a life without pain and suffering. Read the lives of the saints if you need proof. The difference between those who serve the Lord and those who serve Lucifer is the way we deal with those challenges. Those who serve the Lord find meaning in sufferings embraced and united to the cross of Christ.

One of my new year's resolutions is to say this prayer often, especially when life looks dark and depressing and I'm tempted to despair:

My Jesus, I offer this for love of You, for the conversion of poor sinners, and in atonement for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Sodom and Gomorrah may have gone global, but the Kingdom of God is within us and around us. Our little boats float on an ocean of God's love and mercy with Jesus sleeping on a cushion right there with us as we're tossed in the storms of life. We need not fear capsizing when we trust in Him. Let us meditate on His holy face and fear nothing.

  1. Wha a beautiful post. It is just what I needed as I try not to fall into despair over the events happening in my country.

  2. I know what you mean. I'm praying frequently these days to fight back those temptations. Fr. John Hardon, SJ used to say that discouragement is ALWAYS from the devil and we must never give in to it. So I keep praying, "My Jesus, I offer this for love of you.... Please pray for me; I'll pray for you.

  3. We need to pray for the lost and misguided. Each lost soul to
    satan is great tragedy.
