You Support Abortion, Communion is No Problemo; You Kneel, Get Behind Me, Satan!

I thought refusing Communion to kneeling faithful was a thing of the past, but not with this recently named Chilean bishop, Bishop Celestino Aós Braco.  It happened at the Chrism Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Santiago, Chile. The bishop replaces Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati who is under criminal investigation for covering up sex abuse. Read more here.

This is clearly a violation of the rights of Catholics. Being refused Communion for kneeling is a serious abuse of a bishop's authority. According to LifeSiteNews:
The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments stated in its 2004 instruction "Redemptionis Sacramentum" that Catholics may receive Holy Communion while kneeling and should never be denied on that ground.

"In distributing Holy Communion it is to be remembered that 'sacred ministers may not deny the sacraments to those who seek them in a reasonable manner, are rightly disposed, and are not prohibited by law from receiving them.' Hence any baptized Catholic who is not prevented by law must be admitted to Holy Communion. Therefore, it is not licit to deny Holy Communion to any of Christ's faithful solely on the grounds, for example, that the person wishes to receive the Eucharist kneeling or standing."
This is why Catholics no longer trust their bishops. This man is making it clear that he is above Holy Mother Church. When one looks at his shepherd's crook, we know he will use it as a club to beat the faithful. What a transition, to go from one bishop who covered up for the sex abuse of the lambs to one who will beat up the sheep who are the most reverent among the flock.

God have mercy on his soul and the souls of the poor flock upon whom Pope Francis has inflicted him! It is no surprise, of course. In the Francis Church, kneeling and genuflecting are out of fashion unless you are kissing the feet of battling Sudanese leaders or washing the feet of prisoners.

Jesus Christ in His Real Presence just doesn't rate that kind of respect. The pope is notorious, in fact, for not kneeling or genuflecting, (because he has bad knees they say) so maybe the bishop doesn't want the flock to look holier than the pope.

Who knows? In the confusing smoke-filled Francis church one is hard put to find explanations about almost anything.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, pray for us.
