A Powerful Conversion Story: The Traditional Latin Mass Led Him Into the Church
Protestant seminarian finds home in Catholic Church through social media connection
I remember a friend once telling me about a man she was dating. He attended RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and did, indeed, become a Catholic if my memory serves. They didn't end up getting married, but my friend told me how he responded to the classes. "It's not much different from my Protestant faith."
What does that say about the instruction? Nothing good!

Flee the Cities is Biblical. Is This One of the Reasons?
Jason Aldean's video went viral after the Left went berserk and accused him of racism. (Yawn!) That accusation is getting really really old. I like country music, and I give him two thumbs up for this song pushing back against the Left's violence, extremism, and police hatred.

The Butchers in the West's Empire Want Russia! They're Using Ukraine as a War Proxy Puppet.
The Ukraine/West lie machine continues to disseminate misinformation on a daily basis. If you still think Ukraine is winning you must be listening to the Left, their fraudulent media, and the brainless "fact" checkers who couldn't find their way out of a paper bag.

Celebrate Grandmothers' Day, the Feast of St. Ann!
I'm celebrating today. In the traditional calendar, it's the feast of Jesus' grandmother, St. Ann, who is also one of my patron saints and a very welcome one. I was thanking her this morning after reading that she is considered, not only the patron saint of fertility, but that her patronage extends to fertility of the soil. We were in desperate need of rain and the last two nights we had beautiful rainfalls. Thank you St. Ann.

Three Questions for a Lunatic Society: Plenty More Where They Came From!
A man is still a man even when he pretends to be a woman and steals all the awards from the real women. Stop playing the game! He's a guy! |
1. How come a guy exposing himself in a park to young teenage girls, would be arrested, but calling himself a girl makes it okay for him to prance around naked in the girls' locker room? And why do girls who complain get punished? Should a 16-year-old be forced to see a mentally disturbed man parading in front of her shaking his junk?

Don't Let the Death Peddlers Make Decisions for Your Adult Children!
Once a child reaches the age of eighteen he or she is a legal adult. That means, if your legal adult living at home has a medical emergency, you have no right to any information about his condition. Parents can be shut out of the decision-making process in favor of the folks in white coats and scrubs and the legal eagles in suits and judicial robes.
I'm posting this next video from our End of Life Series and urge you to watch at least the first five minutes. It's a warning about what awaits your young adults if they end up hospitalized with no medical directive defending their rights.

The Euthanasia Movement Wants You Dead!
Someone messaged me yesterday asking for information about euthanasia. More and more people are seeing their loved ones deliberately killed. They check them in to a local hospice facility awake and alert and, within days, they're drooling and unresponsive and soon dead.

Is the Canonization Process Infallible?
Today is the feast of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, a Capuchin friar who died in 1619. He had a great gift of preaching and also spoke Hebrew, so Pope Clement VIII asked him to preach to the Jews of Rome. Think of that! A pope who thought Jesus was serious about baptizing men of all nations and asked a brilliant saint to bring the Jews to Christ. As an important figure in the counter-reformation, St. Lawrence established Capuchin friaries in Germany and Austria that brought many Protestants to the faith, perhaps some of my own ancestors. He also had great devotion to St. Joseph. St. Lawrence wasn't canonized for over 250 years. Do you really think that the Vatican II popes should have been rushed to canonization, especially in view of the crisis in the Church which, one can reasonably argue, they aided and abetted?
Are canonizations infallible?

How We Dress for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass Matters!
A priest on Facebook posted this and it elicited quite a discussion. One gentleman argued that at least people were at Mass and, besides, how you dress depends where you are geographically. I always find that argument shallow. How many weddings do you see with guests arriving in shorts and flip flops even if the wedding is held outdoors?

Living in a Dystopian Novel Is No Fun, but Never Fear: Our God Reigns!
I used to read a lot of science fiction and enjoy science fiction films. Many of the stories were set in dystopian societies where the people were controlled by elitists keeping the masses hypnotized and quiet with bread and circuses and deadly "entertainment" by the enslaved. Think of the Hunger Games!

An Opportunity to Perform a Corporal Work of Mercy: Visit the Imprisoned with a Letter
Two Red Rose Rescuers are in jail for defending God's babies. While child trafficking and abuse is epidemic in this country and often goes unpunished, trying to save babies from the hired killers in abortion storefronts earns significant time in the U.S. gulag. The abortion sacrament must be protected, whatever it takes!

The Goal of the Synodal Takeover of the Church Is the Corruption of Priests! Thank God for the SSPX!
Remember Good-Bye Good Men, Michael Rose's book about the attack on orthodox men aspiring to the priesthood? Corrupt seminaries welcoming homosexuals bearing nicknames like The Pink Palace (St. Mary's in Baltimore) had gatekeepers to make sure only those who supported women's ordination, homosexuality, changes in moral teaching on sexuality, etc. were accepted. Those "rigid" Catholics, men who loved the faith as taught over the millennia, were blacklisted, excluded, and expelled especially if they had the temerity to tell seminary rectors about being approached by their gay classmates. Actually, sometimes they were approached by faculty. And they often ended up being told they were unfit for the priesthood.

Is the SSPX Position Really Indefensible? Part 2
I'm continuing to read and reflect on the article claiming that the SSPX position is "indefensible." I wrote in part 1 about clandestine ordinations forbidden by Rome but performed by both John Paul II when he was bishop of Krakow and Cardinal Josyf Slipyj, a prisoner of Russia. Rome explicitly forbade the clandestine ordinations during the Cold War battle with Communism. The bishops did it anyway. Sometimes, crisis situations necessitate disobedience. John Paul II never expressed any regret over his deliberate disobedience of the pope's directives and he never suffered any consequences despite the automatic punishments defined in canon law. He is now a canonized saint and Cardinal Slipyj's cause is in progress.

Thought for the Day: Govern Yourself!
Most days I read the saints of the day from Butler's Lives. Today is the feast of St. Henry the Emperor who died in the early 1022 and was one of the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire. A line from his description really hit me. While he had the responsibility of governing his nation, he had the prudence to recognize that, "the government of himself was his first obligation."
That invites serious introspection. How well do I govern myself? Do I reflect on my chief faults and work diligently to master them? Do I "govern" them by a prudent use of my intellect and will? A serious examination shows me exactly how often my faults govern me rather than me governing them. Thank God for the sacrament of Confession and the help of my guardian in mastering myself, a lifelong project.
Reading the lives of the saints always invites serious reflection on our faults and failings, but also our successes. At the end of the day, it's good to examine both. How well did I do in my actions? Did I omit something I should have done?
I am the queen of my own little nation. How well am I governing?

Is the SSPX Position Really "indefensible?" Part 1
Cardinal Wojtyla and Cardinal Slipyj both ordained clandestinely without permission from the Vatican violating canon law. |
I'm currently reading SSPX Indefensible posted by Dom Dalmasso of the Logos Project written by Noah and Wesley Weidig who were raised in the SSPX. The document is really just a reiteration of points made by Dalmasso, John Salza, ex-32nd degree Mason, Robert Siscoe, and Andrew Bartel, all of whom came out of the SSPX and now attack the SSPX as schismatic and a danger to the faith.

The Violence Against Pro-Lifers Is Getting Personal!
83-year-old woman beaten while praying outside Maryland abortion facility
Editor's note: The video above is from a 2019 assault on an elderly woman. It's been going on for years. However, it's escalating to a shocking degree. Pray for those fearless prayer warriors who refuse to be intimidated and continue going out to protect the babies!
I was reading LifeSiteNews this morning and saw the latest attack on a pro-lifer outside an abortion business. The victim, 83-year-old Olga Fairfax, is a friend of mine. When I lived in Northern Virginia Olga and I participated in many pro-life events together. She once asked me to take a pregnant young woman to an ultrasound appointment with an abortionist. "What?" you're asking. "Why would you do that?"

The Irony of the Feminist Outcome! Women no Longer Exist.

But there were other effects also, perhaps unintended. Feminist radicalism turned many men into "metrosexuals," feminized men; and homosexuality grew in epidemic proportions. The bizarro world of fashion today dresses male models in outlandish girly costumes that make many of us cringe. "Who wears that stuff?" Perverts in pride parades, of course.
And the lament grows: "Why can't I find a good man to date?"

The "Tuck" Isn't "Friendly" Enough For "Miss" Netherlands
Example of not "tuck friendly" enough to hide the fact that this is a man |
Miss Netherlands' bikini isn't "tuck friendly" enough. He has a perceptible penile bulge right there in front - enough so that judges could easily see he's a man, not a woman, but the transgender agenda must be accelerated beyond truthful realization. Forget all costs. Women must be obliterated by insane men. Psychotic men must take women's place in sports and beauty contests. Put me in jail for saying that this vile filth is exactly that - vile filth.
Rikkie Vallerie Kolle, voted "Miss" Netherlands, is a man who will represent Netherlands in the Miss Universe 2023 contest in El Salvador later this year.
Wait for It: Boots on the Ground in Ukraine are Coming! You Can Bet the Farm on It.
Let's face it. Not only is Joe Biden demented, but his puppet masters are determined to get us into an all-out war with Russia. To date, Uncle Joe has promised the American people that he will not send...(fill in the blank) to Ukraine...and then he proceeds to do it. The recent decision to arm Ukraine with cluster bombs is just the latest escalation in the dirty war, an escalation using particularly evil weapons banned in many countries.
What's a cluster bomb? Here's a brief definition from INews:

Defang the Snake! James A. Lindsay on How to Avoid Verbal Traps
One of my readers referred me to the very interesting video above called "Name the Dynamic." It's about how woke Marxists use manufactured arguments to advance their cause. It seems to me that the description of the tactic isn't limited to the Left. I'm interested to learn more about the strategy, so I subscribed to James Lindsay's channel.

Reflecting on the Blessing of Death
Raymond John Schneider 1917-1985 |
They say the dying often wait until their nearest and dearest leave before giving up the ghost. That's what my dad did. It was my sister and I who were with him. He was sitting in a chair next to the bed resting his head on the mattress. We were gently rubbing his back and chatting quietly when I realized that he didn't seem to be breathing. We lifted him and already the blood was pooling at the pressure spot on his forehead. We got him back into bed, called the hospice nurse who came quickly and helped arrange his body, and gathered my local siblings to pray the rosary. Daddy had been anointed and I can't remember now whether the parish priest was with us or not. I'm inclined to think he was. When Mom returned we were all there to offer comfort in her great grief.
France, the Eldest Daughter of the Church, is in Flames! And Churches are Being Handed Over to the Devil.
As persecution against religion increases, will we respond like the early Christian martyrs? |
Can anyone with eyes not see the crisis in the Church? And can anyone doubt that when there is a crisis in the Church, there's a crisis in the secular world? What come first: the crisis in the Church or the crisis in the world. I think Pope Pius V (+1572) put it correctly. "All the evils of the world are due to lukewarm Catholics." What did Jesus say about the lukewarm? He promised to "vomit them out of my mouth."

On this day we celebrate freedom, help free children from the demonic activity of sex trafficking!
We went to see Sound of Freedom last night. What an eye-opener to the horror of sex trafficking, especially the trafficking of children. Go see the movie. It isn't graphic or exploitive. But you see the horror and grief in the face of Jim Caviezel who plays Tim Ballard the agent who quit his job with Homeland Security to rescue children. God bless all who worked to make this movie.

The LGBTQ Extremists Boiled the Water Too Soon!
What happens when you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water? The critter leaps out lickety split. No thank you! Not for me, babe!
Now, the LGBTQ agenda for a long time hid exactly what they had in mind. "Oh, it's all about love," they told us. "Our same sex love is no different than heterosexual love." And, "Hey, we don't want to pervert your children. We only call them chickens because they remind us of sweet baby chicks, not because they're fresh meat."

Give Me an Honest Atheist Any Day Over a Lying Liberal Catholic!
While I was looking for a post I wrote on After the Ball a few years ago, (The book by Kirk and Madsen outlining the strategy to normalize homosexuality and demonize those against it), I came across an old post that I thought was worth repeating. Its title? Give me an Honest Atheist Any Day Over a Lying, Liberal Catholic I wrote it in 2013, but could have written it this morning. I think you'll agree. Sad to say, I know many "lying, liberal Catholics" and some lying, liberal former Catholics. Some of them are so steeped in self delusion that I don't think they realize they are lying to themselves as well as others. That might be the most dangerous form of lying. Steeped in propaganda (They've swallowed the camel.), they seem to be true believers even about things that are obviously absurd -- like believing a man can give birth. Only real women and faux men, i.e., biological women playing dress up, can give birth. But among liberals the degree of self delusion also known as insanity is endless!
