Time Out for a Commercial: Mommy in Flats

See my boots. I traded my candy to the
"switch witch" and she left them for me.
Mommy in Flats is a sweet blog filled with lots of suggestions for busy moms on how to look put together while engaging in all the activities of a busy household. It also offers ideas for the kids.

Jamie is a wife and mother of four and a homeschooler. (Transparency alert: She's my daughter.) I enjoy checking out her blog for gift ideas for our 25 grandchildren. I also like her ideas for going through your wardrobe and thinking outside the box to use what you own already in creative ways.

So stop by Jamie's blog. I love the Pokemon hats the children wore for Halloween -- a lot less gruesome than the zombies.

Now if someone would only develop a line of saint costumes!

  1. ProLife Matters

    Nota Bene Maryann,
Please circulate far and wide today

    November 12, 20016

Dear Friends of God, Family and Life,

I am sending you this action-directed memo to remind you that with the Trump victory some 4,000 political appointees will be selected to fill the vacancies left by Obama personnel. Hopefully some of the unnecessary appointments will simply be eliminated, but there will remain important jobs for prolife people to fill in every government department especially in the Health and Human Services area which handles domestic population control programs like the “Stop the Stork” Campaign, and the U.S. Agency for International Development which handles the foreign population control agenda.

I recently looked at the priorities of the Trump Transitional Team and did not see “Pro-Life Matters” listed. I did not see listed the key issue of POPULATION CONTROL [aka government ‘family planning’ programs’] which embraces government promotion of surgical abortion, abortifacients, sterilization, contraception, sex initiation programs, euthanasia, homosexuality, transgender surgery, and other anti-life programs and policies.

It appears the prolife wheel better start squeaking if we want to be heard.

Please go to https://www.greatagain.gov which will get you to the Trump Transition Team site. On the right of the screen hit “Share Your Ideas” and write in “Prolife Matters, and your comments in the “My Story” space.

I have already sent in my suggestions for Surgeon General [Dr. Ben Carson] ; Advisor to the President on Prolife Affairs – non-paying position [Rep. Robert Marshall of Virginia, author of the prolife legislative guide Bayonets and Roses] ; Director for the Office of Population Affairs/USAID [Marielena Stuart]; Head of the Food and Drug Administration [Bogomir M. Kuhar, head of Pharmacists for Life International, or someone appointed by him]; Assistant Director for Population Affairs [Steven Mosher, Population Research Institute].

I sew that President Elect Trump has been toying with a dangerous States Rights Human Life Amendment rather than a no-exception Human Life Amendment which would acknowledge the “personhood” of the unborn child. He is in need of some genuine prolife education which we can give him on January 22, 2016, on the anniversary of Roe Vs. Wade.

Also, the Homosexual Collective is already on the move. They are opposing the appointment of Ken Blackwell as Domestic Advisor because Mr. Blackwell states the truth –

Homosexuality is a choice and is not inborn. So you may want to state for President Trump’s edification that government should support virtue NOT vice. No federal funds for the Homosexual Collective. Period.

I am sure you have some ideas for appointments of your own. Now is the time to express them.

Let the Transition Team understand PROLIFE MATTERS!!! Randy Engel, Director, U.S. Coalition for Life, Box 315, Export, PA 15632 724 327 7379

  2. Pro-life Maters are covered under health care as one of a list of items to be addressed with the aid of Congress and the states as appropriate. Here's what it says: "Protect innocent human life from conception to natural death, including the most defenseless and those Americans with disabilities." Before this was Protection of conscience rights.

However, I didn't find Population Control mentioned, but that could be under Foreign Policy.

  3. Purely on a financial basis ,I don't want my tax dollars paying for someone's contraceptive pills or devices OR murders.
Their are so many people who are truly suffering from genuine health reasons not of their own choice.

Twenty Five Grandchildren Maryanne? You are super blessed!

  4. I really am. And four of them were here today and I was making paper airplanes with the three older ones. The youngest is an infant so I just cuddled with him. I am never happier than when I am with the grandchildren. I wish they were all in the neighborhood.

  5. Agreed , oh to be living in the extended family towns of a century ago !
My mother used to tell me how wonderful her childhood was. She felt sorry we all had to travel so far to visit our relatives only once a year. Now we are even more scattered. Sadly you have to go where your husband's employment is and then you settle wherever. Less and less sons are mentored into family businesses. An elderly Dutch priest about to retire and go back to his homeland in his nineties to die, graced us with his last homily.
He said he was born into an Agrarian society where large families all worked on the farm and took over supporting their parents when they retired. Then came the Industrial Revolution when young men apprenticed with older men ,uncles and their fathers , who guided them. Now everyone goes to college hoping to discover a career path where they are guided by their peers who are just as stupid as they are.

We can see the results clearly today when we look at the Trump protesters and how the Profs and college counselors are providing therapy dogs and safe places for them to cry.
